Question about main gate passes

Post by Monorail_Red » Tue Dec 07, 2010 8:03 am

Hey I have a question about the main gate passes and maybe I can get some input.

As many of you probably know, I no longer work for WDW. However I still have a few main gate passes left that I never used.

I even received my holiday pass as well, and for that it says that in place of a company ID, you can use a drivers license. I think that's also true for the main gate passes.

I have heard of CP's using their main gates without a company ID. I have heard of instances where if they stayed a few days after their program end date, they were able to use up their remaining main gate passes without a company ID.

So my question is...will I still be able to use those passes? I'm going to be there this weekend and I have tickets but I figured that it is worth a shot.

Thanks in advance,
Monorail_Red

My guess? They are no longer valid.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Should be valid as long as you left on good terms. How about I see if my maingates work when I attempt to use them later this week?

The main entrance people at the turn style ask me for my ID if I use my main gate. Is it just for verification? Could you use a driver license instead? Not sure.

Well I did leave on good terms with an unrestricted rehire status. This might explain why they sent me my holiday pass which was dated after my last day of work...and in the fine print of that, it said that a driver's license is acceptable.

That's a big 10-4, I'll be in touch.

They mailed me my 2010 holiday pass which was dated after my last day of work...and in the fine print of that, it said that a driver's license is acceptable. I'm thinking that that's how CPs are able to use their remaining maingates after their program ends and they no longer have their IDs.

Your Main Entrance Pass will not work if you're not a current employee of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies. Indeed, it's considered Company property and is supposed to be turned in upon termination or seperation from the company. Likewise for your Disney Family Holiday Celebration ticket (it even states so on the back).

If you have Cast Complimentary Tickets, those can continue to be used even after your employment has completed.

Turnstiles coordinators have told me that drivers license is acceptable if your white ID expired. I wasn't asked for my maingate or anything back, just my ID.

Sounds like something else your managers need to be coached on.

What? Consistent, accurate knowledge amongst WDW staff?

Well I just got back and everything worked!

Sort of...but more specifically it says that it needs to be surrendered at termination of employment...

OR

at the request of the company.

They never requested for it back, PLUS they mailed me my holiday celebration pass to me AFTER my last day of work. So I guess Mickey wanted me to play in the parks as I did. :D:

That's what I figured. It must have to do with restricted & unrestricted rehire. I was given an unrestricted rehire status when I left.
