Heh... my mother knows. She was glad not to have known till after I was safely home though... just like she was glad not to know until afterward about the time I spent 2 hours alone in NYC before the friends I was meeting turned up (they had train troubles coming down from Westchester.) Like I can't handle myself!
Then again, she worries if I go to Disney alone.

I am not that knowledgeable about which hotels are good in the Buena Park /Anaheim resort area. I also don't know your friend's budget.
In Buena Park it seems to me that any of the hotels past Knott's Berry Farm on Beach run on the seedy side. Just a personal observation.
The hotels on Beach Blvd before Knott's are better. There is a Radisson (was an Embassy Suites), an Economy Hotel, and some other mid-price motels. The Knott's Resort Hotel is nice but pricey. (Full disclosure: I work for Knott's Berry Farm)
It has to better than staying at a Motel 6 in the heart of Hollywood. I feel bad for your friend delsdad. She is going to be in for such a rude awakening.
The TV tapings should be fun though. I went to see "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" years ago and had a good time.

I've stayed at the Desert Inn & Suites on the last two visits. The rooms are decent economy hotel rooms. And it is right across the street from Disneyland. My parents are the ones who found the place first and they've used it many times. I'm not sure about the transportation since we always drive down.

My real mother knew too, even knew it was to go to a burlesque show.
I love my mom.

flat visions of misty places,
fragments bound below my surface,
but I can write dreams,
they flow from me,
inscribed but now unbound,
I touch them,
and they are real,
and they are real."

BTW Downtown at 1am made me feel like i was in Grand Theft Auto. *shudder*
My cousin took us on a driving tour of downtown LA, this included tent cities, drug buy areas, and a u-turn in the middle of the street when everyone in the car but him saw the lady "assisting" a guy with what we figured was a snake bite...

Well I don't see a problem with downtown LA then. How many other places can you go where a stranger will help you like that. :p:
The opinions expressed here may not be those of kcberlin. Sometimes I just like to stir shit.

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!
Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.
