Night of Joy
Re: Night of Joy
I think the airlines should sell those seats to the theme parks. I hate to see what 1st class seats are?

Re: Night of Joy
Do you ever get the feeling that airlines release stuff like that to make you glad about what they are giving you NOW that's inadequate. Sort of a "we could be doing THIS..." thing.
Re: Night of Joy
On the pod cast from board x, they were talking about undercover security and someone commented, I think a former CM, that they have the most undercover security for Night of Joy then any other other event.Fitswimmer wrote:I was at the first Night of Joy with a friend of mine as guests. Those half price tickets for CM's were too good to pass up. It was crowded and not everyone was on their best "Christian" behavior, especially the teenage crowd. We did not see one CM who wasn't performing their role with grace and class. I'm sure they put up with a lot this weekend, but at the same time they also displayed something terrific for folks who aren't regular park visitors. My friend is at the Universal Rock the Universe show tonight, and she already texted me about how much better NOJ was. She hadn't been in the parks in years, but left last night wanting to bring her family back.
I would thing grad nights would be the worst. Why is Night of Joy so bad?

It's not quite "what they say" but there is a potential problem for men who ride a lot.mousefan wrote:You do know what they say happens if you ride a bike for a long time in the same position... hope you already have kids...
There is, however, a potential downside to biking; sitting on the bicycle seat may result in the compression of nerves and blood vessels of the vulnerable area of the body called the perineum. The perineum is the area between the anus and the base of the penis in males and between the anus and the vagina in females; it contains both blood vessels and nerves. Compression of the perineum can lead to nerve damage, swelling, artery insufficiency (lack of blood flow through the vessel), and even occlusion (blockage) of blood vessels, which in turn can lead to temporary or permanent groin numbness, tingling sensations, decreased penile blood supply, erectile dysfunction (impotence), decreased orgasm sensitivity, and pain.
The very easy fix is to use a seat with a slot that will relieve pressure on the perineum.

Re: Night of Joy
I'm not sure why the NoJs are so bad, but they are. I remember working a few, and at the end of the night we would actually have to make a list of all the damage that was done to our attractions (Fantasyland). One night in particular, I'd gotten stuck on the carousel for awhile, and I had to cut nearly every cycle short because the kids wouldn't sit, they were getting on and off the horses while it was moving, standing ON the horses, and they were completely ignoring me.
Sometimes, the people on the thing would refuse to get off, and not just a couple, the ENTIRE carousel full, until I'd loudly announce to the people waiting that they wouldn't be able to ride until all the other people got off. That usually would get the waiting guests mad enough that they'd start yelling at the morons, and they'd leave.
The worst thing I saw was that same night. This one teenager kept standing up on the tail of a horse. I kept telling him to get off, but he ignored me. As I stopped the ride, the tail just snapped off. The kid of course took off, and since i was there alone, I couldn't do much except call a manager for help. I doubt they ever found him. I was furious!

Re: Night of Joy
I believe NoJ is so much worse than Grad Nights because on Grad Nights there are a lot more chaperones per so many kids than on NoJ and because the grads know if they screw up they'll spend the rest of the night either in Tony's with the chaperones or in Security, won't get to walk at graduation, and their school won't be invited back.
Also, for a lot of the NoJ kids this is their first time away from home without their parents and they think they can get away with anything. I worked one NoJ and had a kid jump the turnstile on my attraction right beside me and when I told him not to he said "why?" I explained why. A little later I was out front and this same kid jump a rope out front of my attraction. This was a rope set up to surround a section of new concrete while it set. I told him not to jump ropes and again he said "why?". I wanted to tell him "because you could easily face plant on the hard concrete and seriously injure yourself" but didn't. The kid was a smart aleck that I so wanted to slap some sense into.

Sitting in one of these seats for an extended period of time might make you think this had been poured on your behindular region.

What happens if you spilled hot coffee on the seat? Would it melt?
I hate to see what first class would have? Maybe the nice leather seats?
or would it be the same seat and you have more leg room? :D:
