Night of Joy

Post by kurtisnelson » Sat Sep 11, 2010 3:35 pm

My friend was working PAC on the right enterance to the castle stage close viewing, and had to cut off access due to safety. There were all these half-parties trying to get in to the rest of their party, and they were not allowed in because as soon as one person goes under the rope everyone wants to. So this guy starts talking loudly to no one in particular how he has a cop ticket and is going to fill out on the survey how horrible PAC is to him and such. I start laughing (I wasn't working) because those survey results will probably cross through my department. About 15 minutes later, he taps on my friend's shoulder and ACTUALLY APOLOGIZES! He acknowledged that they have a hard job and are just doing it! THERE IS HOPE IN THE WORLD!!!

I should add: I'm working Pecos Bill EHH this evening for NoJ. I know I will have some actually SGTs to tell tomorrow.

I was at the first Night of Joy with a friend of mine as guests. Those half price tickets for CM's were too good to pass up. It was crowded and not everyone was on their best "Christian" behavior, especially the teenage crowd. We did not see one CM who wasn't performing their role with grace and class. I'm sure they put up with a lot this weekend, but at the same time they also displayed something terrific for folks who aren't regular park visitors. My friend is at the Universal Rock the Universe show tonight, and she already texted me about how much better NOJ was. She hadn't been in the parks in years, but left last night wanting to bring her family back.

I have heard about the Night of Joy.

I have also heard horror stories too.

Is there any horror stories this year?

Pecos Bill was a disaster, but SG free.
I was singlehandedly bussing, greeting, and cleaning all of upper Pecos Bill along with all of the Pirata seating area. AND we had 10 more people working today over last night.

Big deal, in two days I'll be alone on a plane, for 13 hours, watching movies, sleeping, *maybe* touching up my presentation. I'm not saying I have it worse though...

Hey, it's not a corporate card. I have to pay for it and get reimbursed. It does help add to my miles though :D:

Flying is not bad. My sister Mo and I wet the isle seats. We also like the window seats over looking the wings.

I suggest once you are up in the air, get up and walk around. Or do some leg exercises to keep yourself calm. Ise the restroom and listen to the head set. You should be ok.
