Parties of 33 should consider dividing their parties into two groups of 16 and a half each.

Yes, Erin Bethea. The first time I saw Fireproof I thought she only got the part because her father is the pastor at Sherwood Church, who makes these films, but she kind of grew on me when I saw the film again.AndyFL wrote:I've got to admit that I've been absolutely amazed at some of the stuff I've read on this board. I've been self-employeed and dealing with the public for 26 yrs and before that I worked through high school at a grocery store so I had thought I'd heard or seen it all. I always try to be the nicest person a CM comes into contact with each and every time....I followed this practice last week with a CM named Carolyn who works at CRT and it obviously was appreciated by her and she managed to get us a table. I know to her we were just one family of hundreds she dealt with that day but for my 3 yr old and 8 yr old daughters she was their absolute hero.
Earlier last week I was in Space Mountain and was right about to be seated and the folks in front of me were VERY hard for the CM to deal with...he was a nice kid and I could tell he was trying to do his job the best he could. As I stood there he walked over I mentioned that I couldn't believe how some people can act and said that I wouldn't be surprised if I read about the incident on SGT....you should have seen his expression.....I could tell he was shocked that someone who read this board was not only there but commented on it. It was great.
BTW, is it common knowledge that Belle from Storytime with Belle is the young lady who starred in Fireproof?

One of the main reasons I love to go to WDW is to get away from the rude behavior of so many people in the service industry. I know we will be treated well. I have never, in 30 years of going, met a rude or unpleasant cast members. When we were on our anniversary trip, everyone congratulated us (I know you're probably supposed to but it feels great) and people have consistently gone out of their way to be cheerful and helpful. For the last two or three times I've taken down the names and locations of especially helpful people and written to Disney to commend them. I always get a nice reply. BTW, Pablo, from the Contemporary storage room, I still think of your staying past quitting time to help us when we were vendors at a convention. :)

Very true. I deal with the public each and every day and I've learned that customers who also deal with the public tend to be the most patient and easiest to deal with. Nothing makes my day more than when I get a heart-felt thanks from a customer who realizes that I always try to do my best.darph nader wrote:Not becoming a SG is easy. True... mainly because the ones who do not have the necessary patience don't last in service jobs very long.AndyFL wrote:Very true. We love interacting with the CMs. I've worked retail so I know what it's like to be on that side of the cash register (as I call it) so I know what it's like to deal with snotty customers all day long. We always go out of our way to make sure the CMs are treated with respect. We actually made sure to put a smile on a CMs face in the Emporium one day after she had to deal with a really snarly customer. We know that making magic is a part of your job but it's not your responsibility to make all the magic for everyone that passes through Disney's gates. The guests have to make some of the magic for themselves.
