Meanwhile I live nearby enough to enjoy the Nations #1 Chicken BBQ. Yes, I said chicken... Chicken BBQ is big in Upstate New York.... although they do also have the best rack of ribs I've ever had there.

Believe her.GaTechGal wrote:The only thing I don't understand about Texans is how they can call grilled beef BARBEQUE. If it's BARBEQUE it's got to be PORK. :D:
I oncet made the mistake of asking in a Georgia barbeque joint, "What kind of barbeque is it?"
I was told, in condescending tones usually reserved for slow children, "It's barbeque pork pig!" and not one of those words was pronounced as one syllable.
Forget where it was, but it was walking distance from Emory.

To me, the term "barbecue" is reserved for items cooked with smoke involved. The smoke does not need to come from the fuel for the fire, though. If no smoke is involved, then I believe that it is "grilling".

I bet that was Dusty's over on Briarcliff Road. They're ok, but I'm not so keen on their sauce.Zazu wrote: Forget where it was, but it was walking distance from Emory.
Well the best place in town as far as I'm concerned is still Harold's down by the Federal Penn. Not the nicest neighborhood, but a lot of cops eat there so Harold's is probably pretty safe. A&J's Tasty Pig in Snellville burned down which is a shame cause it was the best place up near us. Shane's has opened up a bunch of places around town, and they're pretty good. They've got a nice array of sauces so you can get either sweet or tart. Their original place was out in McDonough.kurtisnelson wrote:Which reminds me, I need to find a good BBQ
