She sure does look like a point of light. . . . Except for the fact that you can see her legs, wings, head, wand, and her body!

Boy. . . Sarcasm is lost on the SG of the world I suppose. Oh well.

And maybe to see if she pukes or not? :D:

*Mental note* Tink is now the designated driver. Or would that be pilot?

Honda,

You asked how many times I've seen her fly. To many to count, I work on Main Street. One of my locations is very close to both the castle and the Noodle Station which she flies over and I've been out there a number of times during fireworks. I see the landing tower every single day and have been right up by it a few times. Tink is only ~160 feet up, no person is a speck at that height like you are saying she is.

I've attached some screenshots with the important parts marked. I know all of this is accurate as I see it EVERY SINGLE DAY! I might not see the fireworks or Tink fly everyday but I do see the cable and tower and I have seen Tink fly an uncountable number of times both while working and as a guest, from different places in between the end of the Main Street buildings and the Castle. No where you can see Tink fly in the park is she a speck, except maybe from the top of Splash Mountain or something.

In the first picture, an overview of the area, the yellow circle is Tink's landing platform, in the red circle you can sorta see the cable, the green arrow points at the Partners Statue, the blue arrow at Stitch's Great Escape, and the yellow arrow at the entrance of the Tomorrowland Noodle Station.

In the second picture the yellow circle marks Tink's platform and the red marks the tower that has weights to keep the tension on the cable. You can't really tell but the cable tower is extremely beefy.

Honda Enoch wrote:EXCUSE YOU!!!!!!! I have been to WDW over 200 times. I have family that retired from there. I have seen the fireworks show and tink fly more times then I care to imagine counting. I have seen it from many locations, including directly in front of the castle on the compass. So don't you DARE assume that I am some SG that does not know what he is talking about.
I guess the ellipses weren't sufficient notice that it was a joke. Sorry you took it wrong.

I worked at the Magic Kingdom for over seven years, and have been a regular guest since 1986. Like Shorty, I can't imagine how many times I've watched Tink fly. Unlike you, when viewed from inside the Park, I can clearly she that she's human, and far more than a dot in the lens finder. I don't understand how you can have 20/20 vision and not see her, but I'll take your word that you can't.

The reasons for her trajectory have been discussed by several here, and while I agree with you that a wire down to the roof of the Main Street Train Station would be physically possible to build, and might be possible to fly down, the reasons why the wire doesn't go that way seem substantial and reasonable to me. We may have to disagree on that point as well.

I think that covers all the outstanding issues. Do let me know if I missed one; I'll try not to use subtle humor on you again.

Does she? She could give lessons to some journeyman sailors!

Then again, with an act like hers, there can never be more than one mistake. I saw her inspecting something on the landing tower one day, and she found the workmanship ... insufficient. Loudly!

Boy howdy did that get fixed fast!

Is WDW planning to install a fancy-shmancy to make Tink swoop back and forth?
