Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

I'm not trying to be rude. But could you not clearly see (Even from the trailers or the official plot they used to describe the movie) that this wasn't a retelling of AiW or TtLG? Or have you just never read the books?

While I can see that the film is not following the story as written in the well-known novel, I can also see where one might think that it is a "re-imagining" of the classic tale, not that it is a new story set after the original tales. Giving it the exact same name (aside from crediting Tim Burton) as the book only serves to confuse potential viewers.IndyandMarion wrote:I'm not trying to be rude. And that would be....? Sorry, haven't been able to see a trailer lately--no T.V. here to speak of.
The original reason hatters were "mad" --British for crazy, insane-- was that they used mercury in making the felt that the hats were made of. Mercury is a neurotoxin, easily absorbed through the skin, and causes its victims to shake uncontrollably as well as deranging their thought processes. March hares were supposed to be pretty out there as well, because when spring rolled around in March, the hares would have, shall we say, love on the brain, and the male in particular would act somewhat erratically.

Isn't that "Vyxxen" from The Amazing Race a few seasons back? She and her partner are the only ones I've ever seen who could wear hot pink and claim to be goth.
