Forum rules
At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Anyone else see it?
I thought it was great, but saw it in 2d, would definitely like to see it again in 3d......Thought characters were a little scary looking from the posters, but seemed much less so in film. Still would think hard about bring a kid less than 9 years old

I'm very excited to see this movie, hoping to go next week w/ a friend. I hear it's doing great @ the box office so far :)

Haven't seen it, but is there anything Johnny Depp can't do? He could replace Lon Chaney as the Man of A Thousand Faces. Who knows? Maybe he'll do that next.

I was going to see it last night in 3D. But I arrived a little too late and all of the 3D shows were sold out, and I didn't feel like seeing it in 2D.
I'm going try again this weekend.

I saw it at the 10:45am show Friday at the AMC 24 Pleasure Island. They have this new system called EXT where Auditorium 1 at that theater has the first installation in the US. It is a floor to ceiling screen similar to IMAX. They have 12 channels of sound and 58 KW of power. And the projector runs at 8MP, which is 4x more than HD.
I definitely liked the movie. And since it was a "before noon" show it was only $10.00 ($6 for the show, $2 for the 3D, and $2 more for the EXT).

Saw it tonight in 3D. Thought it was great, but not so much a kids movie unless you want to answer questions through the whole movie. LOL!

"Why is the movie still playing?"
That popped into my mind as soon as I read about kids asking questions, and before you ask, yes I have actually heard that asked. It was fairly recently too, when I went to see Up in theatres. That entire experience was unpleasant and kind of makes it hard to watch the movie now even though I enjoy it because of the bad experience I had.

Hmmmm ... brought my 6 year old niece to it today and she didn't have any issue with it. She loved it and said it was "fun". Asked questions, sure - but not out loud. Said things were scary but wasn't screaming and crying as most would think. Maybe your kids do that, but not all. She found the Jabberwocky battle neat and predicted the outcome.
Oh, dare I mention that SHE is the one who requested to see this film?
Admittedly, she is quite precocious and a huge "entrainment" kinda kid. She sat through the operas Carmen and HMS Pinafore while understood the storyline of both. Same with the film Memoirs of a Geisha, at age 3.
