DM, rank is not a factor as to who is honored at Flag Retreat by Ernie. Entertainment is upset due to a few ignorant views. One of the oddest & latest is "Don't hand a flag to anyone before we check with Legal" I guess a veteran who wasn't chosen to hold the flag could sue. Not likely though. Hasn't happened in Ernie's 15 yrs. of Flag Retreat.

That's what I'm talking about-VERY unlikely anyone will sue! Disneyland has many memorable moments that occur unpredictably and uniquely- Is someone going to sue if Mickey high-fived someone else's kid and not theirs? Are they afraid a veteran is going to sue that the flag was too heavy and strained their back?

really,this is so sad....

I have e-mailed Fox News talent, Glenn Beck about this issue. Hopefully, this e-mail will go through! I sent some photos I had as well and told him of the Facebook page.
I really wish I had been there Monday. I would have made sure to have taken photos of that Flag Retreat.
When I make it to DL again, I will be sure to drop off at City Hall with another letter of support for Ernie.

Spoke with Photo Pass last night & was told anytime I see P P CM at Flag Retreat I can ask them to take pix for me. Want to be positive abt this info so will speak with a P P manager today. Have connections in Photo. I really would like to start a P P card & add to it until I have enough for a CD.Think I've nailed it as far as when Ernie will hand the flag over. His right hand moves to the top of folded flag as left hand steadies the flag.

Sunday's meeting was postponed when Ernie arrived. As a wonderful WDW CM so profoundly stated in TXT; "Surprise. Surprise." The "Summit" will be held today @ 1500. More time to prepare & less to worry about. What can DL do now to The Security Cast Member of The Year? :trophy: :star: There are still issues to be worked out & egos to be soothed. Ernie is well prepared yet guarded. A WDW CM told me Ernie had been voted Security Cast Member of The Year - yes, heard this DL news from WDW first. Funny grapevine we have. :) Ernie is the only man who can become Security Cast Member of The Year & still face possible termination. Go figure!
