Possible Disneyland Flag Retreat Ceremony Changes

We saw Ernie taking down Flag-why didn't they announce it to audience? Would have added to experience!
No Flag Retreat announcement Sat. due to general agreement btw Ernie & Entertainment Dept. Ernie won his long arduous flag battle at last, so no announcement was not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. DL Security Officer friend of mine was Jon Voight's escort the entire night. He said Jon & his family were friendly & fantastic to work with. Made security's job a treat. Most of my CandleLight (before each performance) guests were extremly rude & demanding. Wanted CMs to realize they were wealthy. One guest told me to watch her child in stroller while she shopped. After a minute I took the child to her & told her she had forgotten something special. Later same guest had the nerve to ask me to babysit during Candlelight. Even offered to pay me. Told her she should have asked an hr. before as I was totally booked for babysitting. Every year I swear I'll get ADO's for CandLight. Every year I forget.

So Ernie is continuing Flag Retreat? That is GREAT News! :)
Sorry about Rude Guests there Main Streeter.....Don't they realize we ALL are priviledged to be there? To be at Disneyland in the Greatest Country in the world, celebrating Christmas together-we all were extremely lucky. Should make people appreciate what they have MORE!
This is why we should pity (or make fun of) SGs, they just don't get it.*shakes head*

Yes, Ernie will be able to continue Flag Retreat His way! Entertainment Dept. idiot CM can't interfere at all. Ernie will once again be able to present the lowered American Flag to the Veteran of his choice, salute the Veteran, & sing God Bless America to the Veteran along with the DL band & all who sing @ Town Square. We almost lost Ernie & his strong commitment of honoring Veterans, but THANKS to great letters from your FIL & other men who took the time to share their stories & souls - even through pain - Flag Retreat will be better than ever under Ernie's dedication. DM, please thank your FIL for a quality letter & tell him he is a double hero. :hero:

Yes Kman, Entertainment Dept. CM has been pushing & complaining abt Ernie & Flag Retreat for months. They said Flag Retreat looked more like a funeral. Has been an emotional rollercoaster for Ernie. I feared he might shuck it & go home to Va. We were ready to go to The Orange County Register & all news tv if great minds  hadn't met & suddenly seen reality. Ernie now carries Em of authorization in his wallet just incase. Good thinking K! Bet Walt did intervene :memribbon
