I'm not saying my wife's a collector but.....
I did just give her a full size, custom die, Penny Pincher for her 40th birthday.

Wow....That's pretty funny. I always liked Tony Baxter's projects but I think I like him even more now! He's really a maverick isn't he?
When I was kid, I used to be in interested in the Penny Press machines. But I really don't care too much about them anymore. I just think of them as cute little souvenirs.

I usually get smashed pennies for nieces and nephews. It is easy to pack into the wallet. Last time, I thought it was 27 cents. Prices go up for these things.

In hilarious news, Tony Baxter HATES penny press machines, and is fighting a silent war against them in the Opera House.
I can see why. When my daughter is after us to buy her a 20$ plush or some other toy, we are able to offer her a pressed penny, and she is just as happy !
The Penny machines are one of my few memories from my first trip to WDW in 1978. I still have some of the pennies I made. Somewhere. I think.

When I worked at Knott's, they had penny press machines just about everywhere. Some people would use them, but others--I suspect those too cheap to spend fifty-one cents--would put coins on the railroad tracks of the Calico Railroad, and the 55 ton locomotive would flatten them out. Most people, though, would forget to pick them up later, and I collected quite a few of them. Still got 'em, too--train grease and all.

I saw the .51 cent penny press machines. When I went to the MK, I did see a coin pressing machine for quarters. Anyone know what I am talking about?

I do. I think I saw one in the Contemporary on the concourse near the escalators, it was 1.25 to press the quarter. I can't remember exactly where I spotted the machine in MK, possibly near Caseys.
