The Greatest Penny Press EVER

Post by GuestJockey » Thu Feb 04, 2010 7:46 pm

Rumor has it that there will be a new Penny Press machine coming to the Opera House lobby. Believe it or not, for $0.51, you will be able to press the image of Abraham Lincoln onto a penny! (I really wish I were joking here. Apparently, it's the same image and everything.)

In hilarious news, Tony Baxter HATES penny press machines, and is fighting a silent war against them in the Opera House. Every time they add one, he adds a new poster or piece of artwork to that wall so they'll have to move the machine. A few days ago while we were there with him, we turned our backs for a few minutes and when we looked again and both penny press machines were unplugged, and little strips of paper torn off of an entertainment guide were shoved into the quarter slots, jamming it up. Tony was already out front, beckoning us to get moving and hop on the Lilly Belle for a quick getaway.

I wonder why he hates Penny presses so much? Does he think they cheapen the atmosphere? Perhaps a traumatic experience?
I happen to like Penny Press machines. I have a couple of books of Disney pennies and others.

I don't collect them, but 51 cents is about the least you're ever going to pay for a Disney Souvenir
I'll bet a lot of kids collect them......

Sure, individually they are cheap, but collecting all of them can get expensive, 51 cents each time adds up quickly.

Yes, but if you go to Disneyland often and that is your one souvenir each time then it's spread out so far over time that it hardly makes a difference.
