Sorry, this whole thing chaps my ass.
Darph, I don't think anyone would accuse you of being prejudiced, and it shows how silly our society has gotten when we have to write disclaimers in our posts to that effect. He is worthless and a traitor to his own race for so many reasons that came up during the trial. For all intents and purposes, he was living as a white man once he divorced his first wife. He never lived in Ladera Heights (the exclusive black neighborhood near Fox Hills, where wealthy folks live) - he lived in Dana Point and Brentwood. He married white, he socialized with white people, including one of my girlfriends from H.S. who lived up the street from them in D.P. He hired a civil rights attorney who hijacked the case into being one of race, and willingly, shamelessly played the race card for all it was worth for a jury of undereducated people who were willing to make a political statement, rather than doing the right thing by Ron and Nicole. Yes, he may have gone into the 'hood, to thank everyone immediately after the trial, but since when has he gone back? Does he do anything for any black causes? Doesn he do anything for Africa? You don't see him celebrating Kwaanza or his own blackness. Does he date black women? You wanna piss a black woman off, be a black man dating white women (ask some of my other gf's from h.s.). He is a hypocrite, pure and simple. He played black long enough to save his own ass, and went back to living as a white man as soon as he could.
Being a Latina, I am going to have to throw in my own disclaimer here and claim not to be prejudiced as I was part of a rainbow tribe of girlfriends in school (black, Chinese, Jewish and me, the token brown girl).
As Dennis Miller used to say, why be a racist and denigrate an entire group of people simply for the color of their skin, when you can get to know someone really well and find so many good reasons to hate them for themselves?
