I don't know what it is, but for some reason elderly asian people (as in, still speaking Japanese/Korean/Chinese with their family) are our most infamous demographic.

This is the group I have the most difficulty with at my other job (at Pizza Hut) for various reasons. I think they're also the ones that contribute to the "Asians are bad at driving" stereotype...

Stand at Autopia for about 30 minutes, and you'll see that stereotype in full effect. Now, I'm a hoppa, so I know the stereotype actually applies to most of my family, but wow. I never thought it applied to a car ride that runs on a track.

My SIT DOWN! stories are always the same. You get the people who leave the station and decide suddenly that the passenger wants to drive so they GET UP and try to switch. Needless to say, there's a minimum of eight CMs in the station to catch this so it never works.

But then again, we get cars that come back into the station and its obvious that there was switching on the ride that we weren't able to catch. What people don't realize though, is that everyone smashes into each other regardless of our no bumping rule, and if they have a kid behind them with a lead foot, they are going flying out of their own car.

Yep, I agree about the majority of people in Oakland. And I got reprimanded by other members in another thread for being afraid to go there. Ghetto people suck. They ruin the attractions for everyone else.

I was at DLR just this past weekend, and while walking out of Indy, there were about 4-6 boys walking behind my group that kept wolf whistling. It was high-pitched, incredibly annoying, and disrespectful. Why can't ghetto people be thrown out of the park for ruining other people's time? I spend too much money to see the dregs of society ruining my vacation.

Yeah it's annoying, but they paid right around the same amount of money you did, at least the walking in the door part, except that If they're so "ghetto" a $250 day at disneyland is comparatively alot more than it is for others. They're just excited about thier day at Disneyland, as are you. They probably though any looks of disrespect they got from "non-ghetto" guests were just as annoying.

Back to the subject: Idiots thinking it's a fun/safe idea to stand up on rides.

Canoes30x, sounds like you almost got the big thunder backstage tour. We're instructed to warn them no more than three times before stopping the ride. If we feel the threat to thier safety is more immediate, we can forgo even the first warning, and advise them to cease their behavior, after we've taken necessary action to keep them safe. I've stopped the ride twice myself for "F***er standing up" as I like to call it, and wondered a few times how we've managed to recover from a few station stops i've hit for the same reason. My theory on the recoveries are just that we're awesome like that.

I was grouping at Indy, and asked them how many. They chit chatted a while amongst themselves to come to a decision of what to tell me. They replied with "8." So, I told them, "Four in row one, and four in row two."

Suddenly, an oversized mash of people whiz by me and are crowding around in the station. It turned out they really had a group of 24. The last time I checked, 8, with very few exceptions, isn’t 24.

Word of advice with any forgien group: wave them into each consecutive row until that row is full then move to the next row and repeat, and repeat until they are gone. If they leave an empty seat, they leave an empty seat, one of them usually appears out of nowhere and fills it. just watch over them to make sure you don't get 13+. If they come out of the elevator, particularly if it's just you a group, stop both lines gesture to the tour group where the load areas are, and watch in wonderment. It will appear to be the apocolypse until the gates open, at which point in time, they all stop, 12 file in the car, and the gates close, and back to bedlam. I think the most you'll ever get out of the elevator is 25/26, not that we've ever tested this or anything. (max capacity is 16 or 3000 lbs.)

Quite right GMC, in fact my understanding is that the word "ghetto" originally refered to an area of Jewish population. This is why they say that the Nazis forced Jews into ghettos before/during the holocaust: it didn't refer to the crappy housing, it refered to the fact that the population was almost entirely Jewish (not to slight the other groups who were, equally horrifically, persecuted by the Nazis).

Extrapolating from this: anywhere I live is a ghetto, and I've *never* shouted "oakland, oakland, oakland" (probably because I'm originally from SF anyway, and, aside from when it comes to my 49ers, SF is content with quiet pride rather than rowdy grandstanding)

Back on topic: I almost wish I could be on BTMR for one of the standing up a$$holes; I love seeing the behind the scenes stuff when you get walked off of certain rides, although I know I'd be pissed at the jerks who caused it for ruining my ride. I've never been on BTMR for an e-stop or 101. Seems like it doesn't happen that often, or am I just lucky?
