Night of Joy

All I remember from my encounter with Night of Joy was how people did not listen to a single thing that you asked them to do. Like move all the way down a row, really how hard is that.

As a guest, that is my probably my favorite "love to hate" with SG's. My solution? As I have to trample over them, the foot of each SG just so happens to be in the way of my foot, and I accidently land on top of theirs. Sometimes to balance myself, I have to "hop" to make sure I land correctly, with my foot straight and as high up off the toes as possible. ;)

Apparently people were sitting on Roy and Walt the other night...Now Roy, I could very slightly understand, since he is, indeed, sitting on a bench. But Walt? The kid apparently had to climb up on his shoulders...do these people have no decency?!

They're lucky I wasn't there to witness this act of blasphemy! Y'know, it's been a while since I've been to temple, so you might want to ask the Christians, but I'm pretty sure that was one of the original commandments Moses brought down from Mt. Sainai: "Thou shalt not sit upon statues of the heroes of others lest ye be sat upon thineself!" And not to cross threads here, but if you think sitting *next* to me on a plane is bad...

Ah well I'm gonna go "talk to a burning bush" for a while, see if I come up with any rules for how we can all get along... :twisted:

I hate to admit it, but I used this tactic on a Disney cruise once. The jacka$$ next to us had an obsession with his digital camera. Despite the annoucements NOT to take flash photos, he did so every five minutes...I'm sure they really came out good, considering we were in the back row. When I said something, he pulled the old "No speak English" card (despite having ordered a smoothie in flawless English earlier). My husband and I left the show a bit early (we skip the cruise director's announcements afterwards), and gosh darn! Somehow I managed to trample the heck out of Photo Boy's feet, excusing myself the whole way, "Oops! Oh, darn, this aisle is so narrow"). I was hoping against hope he would say something to me ("Oh, so you speak English now? Well, the reason I am tripping and stepping all over you is that I am now legally blind from your flash."), but I think he just decided that we were dangerous because he practically stood on his chair when my husband passed, apparently expecting more punishment. It probably wasn't the nicest thing to do, but hey, I tried to ask nicely first. Every now and then you have to pull a "Falling Down."

There's several problems that come up at events like this that result in all the rowdiness, immaturity, and idiots that abound:

1. The "outreach" that many do for it, practically begging kids to come along to events like this that would never come near a church otherwise. These are often your big troublemakers, and the hope is that somehow while they're running wild around the park they'll suddenly hear some song and change their lives. Trust me, as a youth leader and vet of many of these things, it doesn't happen. They come for the free ride to the park and to mess around since they'll never be with those that brought them again.

2. The leaders of these groups bringing in to many kids for the adult supervision they brought, then turning them loose in the parks to do whatever they want without an adult or someone responsible watching them. I don't care how good the kids are, when you've got a group running loose, they're going to want to try things they wouldn't otherwise and get in trouble.

Stop bringing in people that you wouldn't want near your kids the rest of the time, and start providing serious adult supervision and these would be great. Unfortunately I doubt either one will happen. To much common sense in it.

I apologize for posting religious stuff on this site. I try hard not to do that anywhere. I was very upset with Joy Night because it is a disgrace. I will probably leave this site before i get banned. I had fun and learned a lot, bye, churchy

I don't think you will get banned... As we know, the people on this forum are VERY tolerent with what they put up with everyday. And if you get banned, I am coming down with you.

I think the problem is you take a bunch of teenagers and put them in one park unsupervised. Teenagers are teenagers.

Am I missing something? I didn't see anything that I would have considered over the top. Churchy, unless there's a post that I didn't see, I'll be coming with you. I've seen way more offensive stuff on this site than anything that I've seen you post in this thread.

Park nothing. You should have seen what was going on at the pool at CBR.

According to my husband, they should have gotten a room. Until I told him that they were only about 15 or 16.

I wonder if their parents know what goes on while they are at Disney.
