We had an intresting experience a couple weeks ago at Mk. A light sprinkle started while in outside line at BTM, apparently while waiting in inside line it began to pour. So my dau & I rode in the pouring rain...kinda scary, but fun. As we got off the ride, the whole exit area was totally clogged with about 50 people. By now it was also thunder & lighting something fierce. The CM's were trying to move people along. One CM sorta lost his cool and shouted that we were creating a fire hazzard. Another CM must have said something to 1st CM b/c he was appologizing to the 2nd CM. I felt really bad for both of them. Since my dau & I were already soaked, I got one of our disposable ponchos (we carry 8 with us each day just in case) from my back pack, wrapped it around my back pack to keep cell, wallet, & souvenirs dry, and off we trudged into the rain to meet up with my mom & son over in Fantasy land.

Everyone loses their cool at some point, I still have the highest respect for the CM's. I just wish guests could realize all you go thru & do for us.

This thread makes me very happy that I stocked up on 2 for $1 ponchos at Target last weekend!

My personal favorite is being at one of the waterparks and then it starts raining. Everyone starts screaming, running for cover, holding towels or whatever they can get their hands on over their heads. And Yes, I've even seen people put on a poncho.

I just can't stop thinking "You people are in a waterpark. You have been in the water all damn day but you don't want a few rain drops to hit you?"

I am endlessly fascinated by this.

Same kinda stuff happens here in Hawaii. Just one time I'd like to yell, "Save yourselves, jump into the ocean!"

Same thing happens on cruises. You have a deck filled with people on lounge chairs who have been getting wet from the pool and sea spray. Then a small drizzle comes and they flee.

I mean what's the point? They were wet or getting wet anyway.

As long as it isn't lightning and thundering out might as well keep your claimed chair.

On a side note, this is always the best time to get a lounge when there were none available previously :)

When I worked at Knott's, the most frequent thing guests would ask me if the park stores had were batteries for cell phones and cameras, especially videocameras. Unfortunately, they only carry the standard sizes like AAA, AA, C, D and 9 volt. The oddest request I had was from two teenage girls; one was wearing flipflops and had broken one, and they asked if there was a place to rent shoes! Yeah, in a bowling alley! (I think that was part of my actual answer.) I couldn't even think of where they could buy shoes (aside from moccasins in one of the stores just outside the park.). Honestly, the questions people ask....! :dope:

It's got to be jello. Makes you wonder. Best one for us on Everest to date is "when is it going to stop raining?" (As we are being pummeled by lighting storms and monsoon - like rain) Hope they put the top up on their convertible rental car (another story for another thread).

Got that one one day on the trains:

"When will you reopen?"

"About 20 minutes after the lightning storm ends."

"But when will the lightning storm end?"

"Oh, about 20 minutes before we reopen."

"But when will you reopen?"

"About 20 minutes after the lightning storm ends."

At this point, her husband broke down into gales of laughter. Her reaction to him: "You're not helping!"

Pity she wasn't travelling alone. I was more than a bit curious how many times she'd chase herself around that tree before she noticed.
