You mean like Fred Flinstone when he is driving ?

And I am proof of this statement, I admit I have been a dumbass with this one once since i started here. My friend Diane, who has since passed away(not because of this incident mind you), she had to travel in a wheelchair since her legs had quit on her, and hated it. She always felt like a burden, and we tried to cheer her up by pushing her fast (with no one around) and petending to let go, of course being right behind her and grabbing on to the chair when she though she go slamming into things, and laughed her butt off.
Well yours brainless (me) is coming into the TTA from the handicap lot with one of the OLD courtesy chairs. I started to jog down the ramp under the street and joked with Diane that I was going to let her go if she didnt start having fun...well I scared myself when she started picking up speed from a very slow crawl into a fast crawl so I grabbed the handle grips and thought I had her until I noticed she hadn't stopped and she hit the wall by the tunnel. The grips had come right off in my hands so down Dianne went. I was unconsoleable I was so mad at myself for being an ass, however Dianne, thank God she was okay, said laughingly...Okay I promise I'll have fun, really I'll be good...I felt so stupid and the other guests around really let me have it. We laughed about it days after, but I'll never do it again.

I never understood why people don't have common sense with strollers....I am the mother of 2 (3 and 1) and I obviously bring strollers with me....but I bring 2 pound collapsable umbrella strollers that I close up, put them in a corner of the stroller parking (if its packed) or open if it's not that crowded. Each stroller has a small mesh bag on the back that contains and small tube of sunblock, a diaper, travel pack of wipes, maybe a pack of fruit snacks, and a sippy cup. Everything except the cup folds up nicely (but even the cup doesn't take much room). But then I see these people with huge strollers, diaper bags, video bags, bags of souviners, maps, even food....and I wonder what they are thinking....then the worst is on the buses, parents trying to squeeze onto a packed bus, pushing a folded monster of a stroller into the crowd, banging it into peoples legs, then watching non stroller people give me a dirty look because I have a child in my lap and a neatly folded stroller between my legs (not protruding into the aisle at all, might i add).
The worst case of this was in December, I took my kids to EMH at the MK (had a wonderful time I might add, CM's were extra nice, even though it probably sucked cause it was raining and they still had to work). We left, what seemed like everyone else left, got to the packed bus stop, got on the bus, and watched as a woman pushed her huge stroller right onto the bus, didn't even fold it up. Mind you that they at least thought to take the baby and the infant seat out, which the father was holding, but I sure the mother was just too tired to fold up the rest of the stroller so at least 2 more tired guest could get on the bus. It's people like that who give parents like me a bad name!

And then you have the guests that blatantly ignore signs that say
"Stroller Parking ---> "
and leave their strollers in the middle of a walkway. Or they will take down a rope and move a trash can to put their stroller in a parking area that's closed (where if they walked 10 feet further, there would be CM's standing by to park it for them)

And then they come back and ask for help looking for their stroller ... "What colour is it?" "Oh, it's blue" ... ok, you've now narrowed it down to 75% of the strollers in our parking lot.

If I ever have kids in a stroller, I'm going to find some incredibly distinctive way to identify the stroller ... perhaps spray paint it neon green.

I had one guest looking for a stroller that we had parked. Took him a few minutes to find it.

When he finally found it I saw it had a large pink balloon tied to it, flapping in the wind. You'd think that would make it pretty easy to find, eh?

SoarWhore, that's a riot!!!

I was surprised at just how difficult wheelchairs can be to maneuver when I pushed one for the first time. I have a friend with a form of arthritis that makes her nearly immobile when it flares up. Another friend and I went to MK with her and took turns pushing her manual wheelchair. Man, that's a challenge on those crowded walkways! But as much as I was tempted, I didn't play "Runaway Wheelchair" on any of the inclines. That thing is way too darned heavy to try & stop if it gets up any speed.

I did learn a way to keep the crazed stoller moms at bay by accident. I was at MK on a rainy day, carrying a huge umbrella with a pointy tip. After half a dozen strollers had clipped my heels, I discovered that carrying the umbrella backwards, with the tip pointing behind me, works like a charm. Stroller pilots apparently do have enough common sense to keep their kids from getting their eyes poked out

Nice work, pal

(Syndrome)...only if they are watching where they are going. One of the things I have seen is the inattentive parent behind the "wheel" of the stroller. They are looking one way and their stroller is going another way, usually where you are walking. I realize they are probably not trying to use their children as battering rams but it does have the same affect. You can see how people drive their cars by how they handle their strollers. They should have insurance prior to renting strollers. Also, above all else, PARENTS PLEASE REMEMBER YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES IN THE PARK. LEARN TO SHARE THE SPACE WITH OTHERS!

Thanks for listening.

I'm sorry, but I've gotta say something. I'm a CM and a mom of 3. I do bring my strollers (2 singles, the doubles are too much of a pain) to the parks with me as my smallest are almost 2 and 4. I'm thinking there are a large portion of non-parents posting in this thread, so I'm going to put in my two cents (even though the tread is old..... sorry).
1.) Parental battering ram comments ~ I'm rather sure that this is usually by accident. Especially with the private strollers, as the child actually protrudes. I certainly don't want to have my child's legs make contact with anyone or anything purposefully and I do try to avoid it at all costs.
2.) The "stuff" factor ~ This I have to laugh at, since in other threads guests are bashed for being ill prepared (no poncho, umbrella, etc). I have a "special" excuse. My husband and I work for the mouse. We have 3 children. What this means is that if we are going to be heading to the parks for some family R & R, we need to pack snacks and a light lunch. We can not afford to eat two meals in the parks for a family of 5 on what Mickey pays us. You all know that.
3.)"Stop and Go" driving and other annoyances ~ I have two possibilities for this one. The first being the hundreds of times I have been nearly TAKEN OUT by groups of people who decide to go ACROSS the flow of traffic (yes, I do follow the flow of traffic). Or it could be from the 3-4 times that I have actually been run over by a teenage boy without so much as an "I'm sorry" or "Excuse Me", but instead a dirty look from the kid. (Like I was supposed to anticipate where he was RUNNING?) These things make us skiddish.
4.)Annoyed parents with stroller parking ~ I always park in stroller parking. It isn't usually a big deal. However, at some of the really large attractions (Lion King, MGM stunt show, Fantasmic), your stroller gets moved SIGNIFICANTLY from where you parked it (yes, even when you park it appropriately) while you are inside. At the stunt show, it was actually about 20 yards from where I left it. This also can get on your nerves rather quickly.
5.)Sleeping babies ~ children under 1 sleep ALOT when in an outdoor highly stimulating environment. If a guest is in a large party or has (as I do) older children, it's not feesible or fair to the others to run back to the hotel everytime a baby gets drousy. No, a guest shouldn't get irrate for not being allowed to bring a stroller into a ride line, but you shouldn't get irrate for being asked. Keep in mind that babyswap procedures have significantly changed since most of the popular guide books were published (or maybe the guide books were always just wrong.....mine for 2006 says that you all get in line with everyone else).
Anyway, just my two cents. We certainly try to be careful. And we even usually bring abandoned stollers to the front at park closing to try and help out, so don't lambast me too badly. ;)
