Stoller People without common sense

Post by blvinmagic » Sat Sep 10, 2005 3:22 pm

Don't you love the stroller people? I love children, don't get me wrong, but it is usually not the child pushing the stroller but the adult. You know, the adults that drive their cars the same way they drive their strollers. The "jack rabbit"...sudden starts and unexpectant lane changes. The "turtle"...moves slowly in the middle of the walk way and stops without notice. The "I am the only one in the world that matters"...stops in the middle of the walk way to take a drink of water or look at a map regardless of the amount of people around them. The "distracted driver"....the one that runs into the back of you because they were to busy looking the other way while walking. After a few times, "oops, I am sorry" just doesn't cut it any more. The "late for a meeting"...the attraction or parade is going to start in one minute and they use the stoller as a battering ram to move you out of the way. Let's not forget the "double parker"...leave their stroller any where, usually in the way, some times with their child still in it unattended. Perhaps they should issue stroller licenses prior to renting them. Have you ever crossed over a bridge and saw a solid line of strollers coming at you? It almost makes me want to turn around and run. :\

My wife and I have a name for what Fantasyland looks like after 10 am - Stroller Grid Lock.

I realize that there will be a lot of strollers in Fantasyland, but I would like to see WDW create a marked off pathway so people can walk through Fantasyland without having to dodge strollers. In front of IASW it's brutal!

And let's not forget the people that fill the stroller baskets full of enough food, water, and supplies to survive the nuclear holocaust, and then they get mad when their stuff gets stolen when they park the stroller. Let's think about this, people, if that $800 video camera meant that much to you, why did you leave it unattended on your stroller in plain sight?

Another one that gets me is when the family buys so much crap that they put all of the crap on the stroller and make the kid walk. This usually happens at night, too, when the kid's tired as all hell and doesn't want to or can't walk any more.

Equally as bad are ECV drivers, but that's another story for another thread.

And I can't for the life of me understand how people expect a three-pound stroller not to tip over when they load the back of it with twenty pounds of garbae when they park it. Come on, people, the concept of ballast is junior-high-school-level physics...

And then after people return the rented stroller some have the gall to:
Come back 5 minutes later and ask for all the dripping soggy food they left on there.
Get mortally offended that we took their precious $800 video camera to Lost and Found.
Ask for the diaper bag from the stroller that they abandoned by Small World.
After spending an entire day with the stroller ask for a refund because the brakes didn't work, or because someone stole it at 11am and they were too lazy to get a replacement.
Complain that there are too many strollers around.

I always get the guests who park their strollers anywhere they please, be it in front of the fastpass entrance or under the awning of the closed fastpass area. I tell them about the proper stroller parking and they look at me like my nose hairs are too long. Geez!! Stroller parking, what a novel concept.

You! OFF the red carpet!
