3-D GLASSES Thieves
Re: 3-D GLASSES Thieves
A few pairs have made it into the parking office. If a guest is going to steal them, why go through the effort just to leave them on a tram? LOL
I own one pair of disney 3-D glasses... but they're lavender. I love them to death, because they came from Captain EO.

I fail to see the "cool factor" in swiping 3D glasses. They're ugly.

Guest: "Which row is the least wet?"
Me: "Row 6." (There are only 5 rows in the boat)

At the Imax in citywalk the glasses have a thing in them that is set off by sensors at the exit. Kinda of like at the mall. I'm sure Disney could figure a way to do that at.

RFID chips would do the job.hulkcoaster wrote:At the Imax in citywalk the glasses have a thing in them that is set off by sensors at the exit. Kinda of like at the mall. I'm sure Disney could figure a way to do that at.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

It's the same method that FL's E-pass uses.

Radio Frequency Identification. A small chip is inserted into anything that someone wants to track. WalMart is using them to track pallets to improve their stock tracking. Disney could imbed them into AP cards so a properly equipped cash register would automagically give the discount without having to see the AP's card.BTTF4Life wrote:What is RFID?

& this properly equipped cash register would be found where? Certainly not at DL. Many of our registers don't always work. Like the one in Star Trader @Circle Vision which only displays guest's change for abt half a sechobie16 wrote:a properly equipped cash register would automagically give the discount without having to see the AP's card.

The glass is either half empty or half full.Main Streeter wrote:& this properly equipped cash register would be found where? Certainly not at DL. Many of our registers don't always work. Doubt Disney would invest anything toward saving 3 Ds. Your RFID idea would cause more yelling by guests who love to steal Disney property. Think of the freebies they'd be given by City Hall? Lines would be out beyond The Berm ]
Instead of a optical scanner a receiver for RFID chips would be used. If something doesn't work then call whoever maintains them. Let 'em yell while the cuffs are being put on. RFID receivers can also be put at the doors to catch 'em too.

I heard one of the TL managers (one that I trust more than others) saying we should be getting new registers starting sometime in October. The register that doesn't show change is register 7 (facing the front door)...it's tough to work on. The funny thing about the ink tags is that the old ink tags fit the new machines, but they sent those old tags away. So we have to wait.
