That behavoir isn't uncommon for customers at all. I used to work in an arcade that was next to a laundromat. Long story short, a dryer caught on fire and so the fire department came in and had us evac.

This was in the form of a couple of firefighters walking in, in full gear as smoke is starting to leak into our place and announcing that everyone needs to leave and they need to get access to the back so they can start checking the celing for additional fire.

I had to calm one little girl down who was terrified that the fire was going to get her but I had a handful of people who couldn't understand why we were evacing and insisted that they had to turn in all their tickets RIGHT NOW.

I love a good laugh. If all of our guests were smart I would become bored very easily, I don't know about you, but I like stupid questions so I can have witty answers. Plus if the guest understands the joke, they laugh about it too, it's great.
But isn't that a catch-22? If they are SG's, then how would they understand the joke?... especially when the joke is on them? ;)

Usually other guests will understand the joke and laugh about it, once in a blue moon the guest who asked the question I gave a random answer to will get the joke. And it's always a good laugh with fellow cm's :p:

 I remember when I worked as a paramedic while attending medicalschool, responding to a cardiac arrest at the local VFW. He collasped on the dance floor and everyone just kept dancing around him while we intubated, started IVs and defibrillated him. Someone actually asked us if we wanted a beer while we were working.

people are morons. Pure and simple. I wonder if they've been like this since Disneyland opened in '55.

Today we had a fire alarm test in the GCH. Someone came on the PA and announced something to the effect of, "We will be conducting a test of the fire alarm system shortly. Please disregard the alarm. There is no need to leave the hotel." Then, when the alarm went off, people amazingly asked what was going on, is there a fire, etc. We actually had to tell them they were just testing the system, there is no fire, everything's fine.

I don't know if this is a fair example. Fire is a serious thing, and you can't really mock people for being concerned when they hear a fire alarm going off. Yes, you made an announcement, but what if some people couldn't hear the announcement, or simply weren't paying attention? I would be more alarmed if no one reacted to a fire alarm.

I gotta agree on this one. Reacting to a fire alarm *drill* is really a high quality error!

The other day Rockin roller coaster went 101 so I went get the people off the ride. So I poped the harneses to get them out. As soon as I poped this woman's harness she broke out into to tears. She just balled and cryed and cryed the whole walk to the exit normally people are mad or happy that they get to see the ride with the lights on but this woman just had a break down in the return tunnel . . .strange huh?

As opposed to the Eagles/Chargers football game in Philadelphia Sunday. Apparently the fire alarms went off in the stadium, and no even thought about leaving. A few minutes later, they did make an announcment that it was a false alarm, but no one moved from their seats ?!
