I sympathize with all of you, I think its completely horrible that they won't comply after you've asked. I wish there was something in place to circumvent that situation. Obviously you have a good reason for stating why they can't but I imagine some morons think you only say it to keep you from taking pictures of the inside of the rides. Some people have no sense, personally I appreciate it when someone tells me what not to do while I'm there, sometimes you don't realize that you're doing something wrong. There needs to be some rule for people who think they are above the rules. If I was there and I personally saw something like that happening I wouldn't hesitate to tell the person off for you. That's ridiculous, it not only hurts safety but the people who want to appreciate the ride for what it is can't because Joe X decides he wants to preserve his memories....how irritating!~ :mad:

I don't remember if I posted this little story before, and I don't feel like hunting for my post if I did.

So this is at Disneyland I'm on pirates with my boyfriend. There is this I believe it was a lady snapping flash photos. After photo number 3 or 4 I turned around and not rudely but kinda in a CM voice said. "Could you stop taking Flash pictures?" Then turned back around and my boyfriend said "What did you do that for?" I said "They were ruining my ride experience"

Oh I hate it when people take flash pictures on pirates! I always get a headache afterwards.

I was on pirates one afternoon with my friend and as soon as we left the dock some idiot started taking pictures. My friend looked at me like okay stay calm. About the third picture I turned around and said "what part of no flash photography didn't you understand?"

The guy in front of me laughed and said "apparently none of it."

So the flash pictures stopped for awhile and then they started up again but I didn't have to say anything cause the rest of the boat got mad at them too. So they stopped. It just goes to show if you lead they will follow! :D:

No kidding, we get this stuff at tower all the time. If its not busy at all, I will kick the person off and and ask if the group wants to go in. I will usually get a call from Tower when I am at load people are filming. I mean its pretty dark and if you have your damn cam light it ruins everything. I have had people erase all of their filming, when they come off.

^ Oooh Camera lights...-growls- That is the one thing I despise about Holiday at Mansion....the increase in flash photography and uses of external lighting. Take all the damn pictures and video you want. JUST DON'T USE A FLASH.

So in the ER at Mansion this guy snaped one the two flash pictures as I am bumping through rotation. I said "Please don't take flash pictures thank you" and the guy says "We can't take pictures?" I said "Take all the pictures you want, just don't use a flash" and I made a big deal out of not being able to see.

GOOD FOR YOU Silver :D: About time CMs take over!! Never thought much about flashes ( as I'm stores) until I was suddenly blinded the other day - yes, sunny day - as I excited Side Show Shirts. Two flashes & I almost bonded for life with one of those large red & white standards. Keep kicking those IDIOTS outa TOT for all of us ]

I still remeber the day I was on Mansion and while going around Madame Leota(sp?) Some idiot in the buggy across from ours kept taking pictures....after about the 3rd one I yelled "No Flash Photography please, some of us would like to see." I got a few random cheers and needless to say they stopped taking pictures. People just don't seem to realize how blinding it can be.

Plus they don't understand that it acutually messes with the Ride Control System at some of the dark rides. I know at least at the classics darkrides if you take a picture with flash and were backed up we can breakdown, because it messes with the camera system by sending too much light into the area.

Yeah its the worst at Load 1 in Mansion when flash pictures are taken. We're walking, on a conveyor belt. One flash and you're blinded for a good few minutes. You can't see, you can't load guests cause you can't see.

I've seen flash pictures taken during Aladdin, I was in shock. They say not to, and the main reason you aren't supposed to take flash pictures during a performance is it can blind the actors.

Besides from sitting on ropes and chains this is my biggest pet peeve.

I spent two seasons working on an ice show with a flying section that was performed under blacklight. We would constantly have idiots taking flash pictures even though we asked them not to. It really was for the safety of the performers. We had two girls in Foy harnesses spinning around and flying but they were still wearing ice skates. Other skaters in dark costumes would come out onto the ice to help spin them for the platter spins. Uh yeah, you've just been blinded by a flash, now approach a set of whirling ice skates that are about head height in blacklight and not hurt yourself or anyone else.
(Not to mention, if you blinded the two crew members operating each girl's fly rig. "I can't see is she down yet?")
It also ruins the illusion and I bet those folks looked at the developed picture and wonder why it didn't look like the show

I gotta say, I'm loving this thread!! These rude people seem to follow me to the parks. I don't know how you guys manage to stay so calm all the time.

My biggest complaint is when I'm going into a theater and the CM asks everyone to move ALL the way down the row, so everyone can sit. Sure enough, some couple always stops right in the middle of the row. It happens all the time to me. I try not to let it bother me, but its so annoying. I figure that most times, its probably a foreigner and they may not speak english. Of course, that is just my guess. Its hard to imagine that people can just be that rude.
