Main Street Station, my train about to depart, and I see a head coming up the exit ramp. Per my usual:
"Sorry sport, wrong way! This is the exit!"
"I know, it's okay."
"No it's not okay. It's not safe to enter attractions by the exit."
"No, it's really okay," he repeats, as he turns the corner and I recognize his face.
It's Phil.
Yeah, that one. Phil the Magic Kingdom Vice President. He's escorting a family with a wheelchair to the station mezzanine to watch the parade (instead of to the half-empty wheelchair viewing area across the street).
Oops.
"Um, yeah, okay, but wait behind the gate until the train leaves."
He opens the gate.
"No, really, you have to stay behind the gate or I can't move the train!"
"Oh, okay," he says, as he stands there holding the gate open for the guests.
"Could you please close that gate so the train can leave?"
He gives me the The Look, closes the gate long enough for me to signal the train to start, then opens it again and brings the family out while the train is still moving. I elect not to E-stop in hopes he hadn't yet seen my nametag.
So...... either I get an attaboy for doing my job, or......
