Wearing IDs on stage and off the clock

One thing that has bothered me to no end since I started working at WDW in 2004 has been CMs who visibly, no, blatantly wear their ID while on-stage and off the clock. Let us set a few things straight: First CMs on the clock wearing business dress (ie Managers, O and T, etc.) are required to display...

Re: Brazilian Tour Groups 2008

A Brazilian tour group actually brought EE down the other day! At EE, if SGs on a train high-five SGs on the platform, we usually station stop the train and spiel to them to quit. The Brazilians are notorious for high-fiving. A station stop was hit due to their actions the other day, however it was ...

Re: Venting...

The CDS crash has affected Everest for the past few days. If anything, CDS has been sporadically working. For instance, I was able to clock-in on CDS this morning in addition to picking up my first position at opening. CDS even pushed through the first rotataion successfully. After that, it crashed ...

Re: Cascades, Downtimes, and SGs

Single riders, while they an asset for the most part, can be another hindrance at EE. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the single rider greeter's job is to ask all guests if they are "single riders," or explain that "all groups will be split up." Most EE CMs are very good about...

Re: Cascades, Downtimes, and SGs

To answer your question, BigWallaby, SGs change rows constantly. Indeed, there are times when SGs, due to selective listening, meander, however the vast majority of guests I deal with at EE change rows on purpose. The two biggest reasons are wanting the front row or arranging themselves in the same ...

Re: Cascades, Downtimes, and SGs

Indeed efficiency is the last of the four quality standards. Balance amongst the four is the key to success. I had one trainer in monorails explain that as CMs, we should strive to "maintain safety above all else while being courteously efficient," which hits the nail on the head. I could ...

Cascades, Downtimes, and SGs

Efficiency is perhaps the most essential factor in providing guests with the most seamless experience on any attraction; not only does the queue move faster, the individual ride vehicle moves as it should as opposed to stopping in every break zone. In most instances-from what I have observed both as...

Re: Yes, it's closed

The downtime situation is the same for any attraction I have worked. The standard information communicated to the people is: -We are experiencing technical difficulties. -We are working to correct the problem. -We do not know how long it will be until we re-open. -Please enjoy another attraction in ...

Re: Line Jumpers...dang, y'all are good!

This happens at Everest constantly, especially with people cutting from the single rider queue to the Fastpass queue. Most CMs are good at turning these SGs around at merge point when they are unable to produce a Fastpass. Today, I had a classic, blatant, and overall, stupid situation occur today at...

Re: Fastpass Woes

Being new to the Attractions LOB from Transportation, I am learning about the joys of FP myself. I can relate to just about everything in this post. Perhaps someone else mentioned this already, but I have noticed that guests use certain deception and mob techniques to bum rush and overwhelm the FP r...
