The WDW RR makes a 2-1/2 minute station stop at each station. You'd think this would be time enough for guests to notice that they have arrived, but NOOOOOOO!
Every day, the call of "All Aboard" seems to wake some from their topor and inspire them to leap from the starting train onto the platform where they can't figure out how to unfold their strollers or where the nearest exit is, even with CMs shouting at them, "This way out! This way out!"
Especially during 3-train operation where any delay more than 30 seconds slows down the whole railroad.
So, this happened last night (natch, since I'm writing about it). After we got them off the platform and the the train dispatched, I was commenting about The Stupids to a fellow CM, when a voice behind me began to explain why they had jumped off.
OOPS!!!
They jumped because they had misunderstood the Conductor's announcement that the train would be discontinuing service for the fireworks and were worried they wouldn't get back to their strollers and wheelchairs -- but the train was due to stop *after* returning, so they were still technically stupid.
... which is exactly how I feel now. <sigh>
Now I just have to hope they were also too stupid to read nametags.
