Putting people in their places, without doing anything wrong

Post by Grumpy » Mon Dec 20, 2004 12:13 pm

I'm sure there's another thread like this somewhere, but here it goes:

I'm at the Candy cart in NO² when a kid comes up to me and asks me how much some type of candy is (he's about 8). Parents aren't nearby, at least not within ear's distance. I tell him it's $2 and some change (whatever it was).

Kid: Damn, it costs $1 at Stater Bros
Me: Well, I don't make the prices here; I'm not in charge of that
Kid: Ok, how much does this candy cost
Me: Dollar and a quarter; why, how much is it at Stater Bros?
Kid: Uhh. . . . fifty cents!
Kid: oh. . .how much do these suckers cost?
Me: From 2-3 dollars.
Kid: oh, well I can get them. . . .
Me: Nope, you won't find any Disneyland Suckers anywhere else BUT Disneyland. They ARE NOT at Stater Bros.

Kid looked at me kinda weird, then walked away, not saying anything.

I am not saying Stupidity should be illegal or anything!! But lets just remove the warning labels from hazardous items and let the problem solve itself.Author Unknown

During pop warner a lot of those brats believe it funny to ask what this button did and what that button does.

Few girls my age were joking aroung with me, flirtin, the usual fluff and stuff at Studio B (Loading area for the preshow). Nothing big.

Three boys at the age of maybe 16 with the mind and control of a three year old come up and mock the girls and start asking me what they do.

Kid 1: What does that do?
Me: It resets the counter.
Kid 2: Whats this one?
Me: Stops the show if we have a problem
Kid 1: What do these do (About the intercom)
Me: Contacts various areas in the building.
Kid 3: What does this button do (The green go button).
Me: That? Oh that button is the go button. Gives me permission to step away from this spot, size you up, shine my boots up, then shove them straight up your candy (I cut it right before the rest), then knock you from one side of this attraction to the other if you ask another question which you dont need to worry about....

.....Ladies and gentlemen welcome to GForce Records (Yeah, then I jumped on the mic and did the speil)

Results?
-Few WWE fans laughed at the kids and my comment for vintage Rock lines.
-Girls laughed at the boys.
-Boys were imbarrased.
-Girls came back through....and we talked some more.

While I have yet to figure out a response to these. Another thing I hate people griping (Or b****ing about, depending on the mood) is the complaints about how cold it is inside G-Force Records.

Listen people, your in that area of the building for maybe, ten minutes, 20 if we're using the extended line inside. That's it. In the morning I can understand a little )Right now with the temps the way they are here in Florida).

But your b****ing does nothing to effect me because I have no control over the AC system. Plus I have a jacket on )Along with 98% of the rest of the crew at the ride) so I wouldn't really notice it being cold.

If anyone has the right to complain about the temp in the record building its the new kids who don't have a jacket period because all of them have been either checked out by the rest of the cast at the studios or they just dont have on in their size. Actually in all reality, they are the only one's who have the right to complain because you are in the building for about an hour (or two, depends on if you get to stay in the position) in the AC and a lot of these kids aren't used to AC blasting the way it does at all.

So this goes out to all of you who have either complained about the AC at G-Force or would, think about these guys and just shut up and deal with the cold for ten lousy minutes.

Ok, done ranting, return to your lives people.

-Chuckles- Feel better Indy? Yeah people do the same thing at the Mansion (The AC is on in there year round). But the entire crew is in their jackets or cape coats (Men have to wear the jacket inside regardless). So gee don't complain people, you're in our show building for 20 minutes tops.

Then again these are probably the same people who complained to me about the crows doing their business in the queue and on the guests.

Sorta (Fighing off a sinus infection....fun fun). Least I know Im not the only one suffering (But I knew somewhere...where the AC was blasting, someone else was dealing with the same stuff).

But at HM, I can understand it being cold, fits perfectly with the theming over there.

Actually now I feel a lot better....course it could be the fact that I was inspecting presents to me...course I have mastered this art so I know of at least one thing Im getting this year....

(Nintendo DS anyone?)....uh, not that I figure that one out or anything... Actually. If anyone asks, I was working on the computer at the time of the inspection...

Yeah it does fit with our themeing. In normal Mansion the ghost host says "We have hot and cold running chills" So there you go the AC, cold chills.

I forgot how cold it gets in that building. I never really noticed it as a guest, but when I was sentenced to Coaster I felt it. At first I didn't have a jacket because one there wern't any left, and I thought my stay was only going to be 6 weeks. Then it got extended. Then sometimes Melissia in scheduling would mess up and make me call in. Oh well, that lasted until I finally lost certification.

Today I had so many things that I wanted to say that it defies the amount of time I have in my life to type them all down.

Well at least it doesnt seem like your getting screwed over coldfire. Me? Oh yeah, apparently they think I love to get screwed as I am, once again being scheduled on one of my RDOs (Not that it hasn't happened much, only three or four times). Oh well, no big deal, I'll just once again deal with it, smile and laugh when they once again add in the beatiful double back or roll back or whatever the hell it is when your scheduled two shifts within 8 hours of each other.

when people complain about the cold i want to throw them in the fridge/freezer depending on where i work or how nasty they are about it.

but they do get nasty when "their" propane heater runs out of gas
they also get nasty when we turn down the heat to make the gas last longer.

sometimes i just want to yell at them "welcome to california, yes it gets cold in winter, bring a jacket!"
