CM guest excellence

Post by Christopher » Fri Dec 10, 2004 3:39 am

I just returned for a really wonderful trip to Disneyland, and it was my best yet! :D

I just wanted to let you folks know that I took a bit of paper with me and a pen, and not only did I write down each and every name of every CM who gave me excellent guest service (and as it turned out, every single one of them did! :D ), but I even managed to run into all the CMs from my previous visit whom I recognized as having given me wonderful service on my previous visit (and they did it all over again!).

As a result, at the end of each day of my visit when I would drop in to guest relations to write up compliments for the excellent CMs I had a daily list of at least 15 at a time each day! And Guest Relations accepted each and every single one of them. I took care to write down the names, where they were, what they had been doing and how they had impressed me when I encountered them.

Each day before leaving for the night, I was able to do that, and on the second night of my visit a gentleman who took all the compliments smiled and handed me a few "honorary citizen" stickers and said in his exact words, "These are because you went through all that work for us. I mean, usually it's we CMs who are supposed to go out of our way for the guests but you're the first guest I've encountered who's gone so far out of his way to do something for the CMs."

At first I had wondered if writing down names for compliments would feel like some sort of chore, but as it turned out it was just as much fun as going on the rides. It sort of felt like an easter egg hunt, only I knew that writing down the names was doing a special favor for the CMs who were going out of their way for me while I was there.

I told one CM, "Some may choose to collect pins, instead I'm enjoying collecting names to hand in with compliments." She laughed. ;)

On behalf of any and all CMs who were on your list, thank you, thank you, thank you. :) I wasn't even expecting you to do that many. I figure if every guest gave just 1 compliment a day it would be great. You made up for lots of guests. :)

i wish i had known you were comming, i woulda kept my eye out for you, it's probly for the better though, because i had several grumpy points, but usually only with bothersome guests.

Sorry about that, I'll try to let everyone know next time I go. ;)

I do recall meeting one gentleman who worked at the Jungle Cruise whom I turned in a compliment for after seeing him at the Main Street USA "Christmas Fantasy" parade and who also later helped me out of the Jungle Cruise boat, I couldn't help wondering what the chances are that it might have been you because I immediately remembered you the second I saw his hat. Of course that could have been anyone. ;)

Anyway, I'll try to drop a public note next time for you guys!
