Election Day
Everybody, just as a reminder today is the general election. Please don't forget to vote if you haven't already. Democracy isn't a spectator sport and in 2000 George Bush won by one contested state and 527 votes. If you think that your vote doesn't count remember that. Also for everybody in Califorina, eventhough Kerry is leading by a lot and will take that state there are other issues on the ballot. If you live in Florida, weither you are for Bush or Kerry, this is incredibly important that you get out to vote. Just for the record I live in Florida and I voted for Kerry. If you think that Bush should be the president then by all means vote for him.
Just don't get mad if your candidate looses and you didn't vote.

I voted 3 weeks ago to avoid lines. The propositions were studied thoroughly. No prob with them. Wish I'd not been so dang frustrated between presidential candidates. A few CNN pundits claim presidential winner will not be declared until early spring. OMG!! Another 2000! Counting is becoming such a screwed issue. :!: If nothing else remember...IF YOU DON'T VOTE, YOU CAN'T BITCH.

Mailed my ballot in...
THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL I WAS DRIVING TO SAN DIEGO ON A TUESDAY DURING RUSH HOUR JUST TO VOTE.
And my rant is done

Well today I was working the polls as a poll watcher to make sure everything is on the up and up in Florida. I've had several complaints on the touch screen machines that the people that voted for Kerry had their vote switched for Bush. We've also had a few counties that had their servers down when we attempted to look up precients for these people to vote. CNN has Bush winning Florida by 300,000 votes, but with all the provisional ballots, and problems Florida may be in the same shape it was in 4 years ago, with Ohio turning the same way.

Oh I forgot to mention this one I think you'll all love. I had somebody ask me where they were supposed to vote at. Well for that I need their address. Something I thought that everybody knew. This one person I talked to didn't know his own address, and he had no ID on him.

Did any of you know that if you wanted to vote but your shift was scheduled during the voting times at the polls that if you give at least 3 days notice to your area schedulers, you could request to get off for voting purposes. What that entailes to us is, that if it is approved, that you can get off work up to 2 hours before your shift or after to go vote and still get paid. Just a little info thats not well know. Sorry its late though. I just found out last night.

Well I am never voting again till I can go to the polls (ie I change my permanant address). Absentee ballots DON'T get counted unless its a close call. So all my research into California's 1 million props means nothing. My vote WAS NOT counted. So I am not voting till I'm out of college.
