ODV NEW COSTUME?

Post by CaLadiesman » Sun Oct 24, 2004 8:35 pm

You Guys Got To Love Our new Costume on main street...
The Wonderful Bright Colors that Dont Match Our Carts... (except Churro's One) Still havent Made short Sleeves for the men. So on those hot days. GIrls Have to Love that over sized dress that they trip on while pushing there carts to there location.

One and Only thing i like about the new main street costume is they made the neck part expand so your not gagging on it.

I dont know What Do your guys think? ummm I have had many of our leads come up laughin at us.. When the managers have to were it.. they just dont look to happy to wear them.

Im not in odv but I like the costume becasue it is themed to Main street and not the regular ODV costume... I like how the new Leadership wants to get away from the area costume crap and bring back individual ones..

out in Legoland, California our odv is in two sections (reatail and food &beverage) and here, all of are uniforms are the same for males and females (white shirt, black diki type pants, black shoes, and at the moment a blue apron) i have no idea what the retail wears, but our outfits are semi-comfortable but the apron is terrible

the girls wear koulogs/goucho pants/skants. and i like the costumes, can't wait until we all get new costumes, and name tags, i want to get a pair of those skants, and stand over any kind of a/c vent that night be on the ground, and just relax... oh yeah, those are breeze catchers alright.

It's a waste of time. It's just bad business altogether. They have us waste time changing (10 mins walking to costuming, 5 mins getting the outfit, 15 mins changing, 5 mins to get out to our location.) Wasted time=wasted money.

And if your changeover calls in sick you're screwed. It always takes them a while to find someone to cover the shift, and now they have to send someone to change! We're going to be stuck out there forever. And it's not like were allowed to closeup and push in.

I don't know what they are going to do when all the costumes are changed. Are we going to have to come in early every day and change? It's not like we get paid for that shit. Yeah, I'm really looking forward to coming in 45 mins early to change and not getting paid for it!

Security doesn't have themed costumes. Neither does custodial. This is because they are all over the fucking park and it's just not practical! ODV castmembers are everywhere too. We shouldn't have to wear themed costumes.

I know the new president is big on themed costumes. I can only hope we lose a bunch of profit. Then maybe they'll go back to normal.

disneyland has been around for almost 50 years and they never seemed to have problems with themed costumes before... I rember when ODV use to have to wear the costume for the land area of the park they were in....

Understand the logic of theme costumes & like them in the different lands, but wish ODV wasn't themed. Non theme ODV has always been easier for me to spot & so much simpler when directing guests to their ODV reguests/wagons. I liked the 99 - 01? ODV costumes. Always thought those shirts were cool. They certainly were Disney Ear theme.

Who ever said Disney costuming makes sense....
Which is the one thing that sucks about working in NOS/CC attractions. There are 7 different costumes for our area alone. (Splash/Pooh, Canoes, Mansion, Pirates, Twain, Rafts and Columbia). If you start one place and you get pulled you have to go change. Sorry ODV I have little sympathy I've been through it too.

What makes it worse is if your at Pooh and they pull you to Mansion after you get to the park you have to go change. So your other costume is at home including your bat hat (required) and apron. Well they won't issue a second apron or bat hat (one per cast member). So they special issue your apron but refuse to special issue a bat hat (we don't special issue bat hats...). You argue with costuming for 20 minutes because IT'S A REQUIRED COSTUME PIECE and your bat hat is at home because you were pulled to Mansion unexpectantly. So finally you get them to call your lead so the lead can bitch at costuming and you're running behind cause the lead wanted you there 15 minutes ago and you still have to change.....and then you have to find bobby pins....
