Host Checker Computer Issue

Post by Widget » Tue Nov 12, 2013 9:12 am

Okay now this is way off topic but may qualify for a Stupid Computer Trick or possibly a Stupid Computer User Trick. But hopefully someone on here knows what the heck is going on with this oh so friendly program. :banghead:

In order for me to access my work schedule from home I have to sign in with the Juniper Network Host Checker portal. I have followed the instructions given to me but it keeps coming up that the security on my computer is unsatisfactory. I have a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.9. I have Sophos installed as the anti-virus. I have the latest Java update that I downloaded directly from the Java website. I have access to either Safari or Firefox. Both are updated. Based on what I have read this should work.

I have tried clearing cookies and the cache. I have had the firewall on and the firewall off. Not sure what else I can do. The IT department at work sent a memo saying do not bother them since they are way too busy this time of year to deal with problems that any seasonal worker has with remote log-in. Fortunately the schedule is put out two weeks in advance but unless I make a trip to work and log-in there I am unable to give away or pick up any shifts.

maybe it's also checking for spyware and adware.
when I was a travel agent the software wont work if it found and of these,
because my logon info could get transmited.
also even click counting Trojans too.

Have you upgraded to ESAP 2.4.6? Host checker has issues detecting the firewall in 10.9. Check this thread for more info:

Yes. That worked. I knew someone here could help. Thanks Ktulu. Now I know I get to work Black Friday and the day after. At least it is in the call center so all I have to do is take phone orders.
