Apparently, the author of this article was at one time a CP, or knew a few, and had a bad experience. Read the rest of the pages if you like. I have brought up the one in question.

I neither agree nor disagree with this article. As I have told many people, working for the theme parks will always be exactly what you make of it. I stand by that statement, with what my experience became. Oh, and if the pay was good enough, I would go back part-time in a heartbeat, in the right area.

An interesting find on likes.com
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

An interesting list. Doesn't really seem to have had a lot of thought behind it.
Paid Disney intern, but no unpaid internships anywhere.
Divorce lawyer, but no first year associate (doing a lot of the divorce lawyer's work)
Stable cleaner isn't even a job so much as a task for a stable hand.
As far as the description for the Disney Intern goes, sounds about like what I'd expect, but I do think there is the potential for a lot of useful experience, too, depending onplacement.

I find it interesting that they talk about the Lake Wales, FL apartment rates but have a Disneyland Hotel cast member picture.
Hmmmmmm...
Oh, and you can get a waiver to live out of the "Dorms" as I call them. That is for College Program peeps.
Now an Intern, they are a special breed. They are not automatically expected to live in the "dorms". And most are paid a bit more than the CP cast.
There are lots of points that are confusing in the article. You have College Program and Professional Interns...two completely different types of CP.
I agree that the housing for CPs is well, ridiculous. In general, the rooms are too small with single beds and room mates. Two CP per room in the apartment so the number of room mates is based on the size of the apartment. The cost of the bed is high but that includes all the supplemental utilities etc. It is expensive to live in the WDW area...they get free bus transport from the housing to work too.
If they (the CPs) think that the housing is too expensive..I challenge them to find an apartment for what they are paying. Heck, the new apartment building next to Property Control is getting $1200 for a 1 bed/1 bath. That does not include any utilities or transportation.
BUT when they take that experience any where except California or Florida, there is a golden ticket. Yeah, outside of CA and FL people still believe that doing a tour of duty at Disney is well "magical".
I think that they get a unique experience for the duration of their stay. They are not here to make loads of money to take home..they are here to get work experience. The rest is icing on the cake.
shrug...
