Are you with him/her/them?

Post by DLRFantasmic!Dan » Mon Oct 04, 2004 10:24 am

Me (Grouping after spliting up a group): Are you with them?
Guest: Kind of.

I mean, come on!! You are either with your party or not!! It's either "Yes" or "No". This happened to me twice this past weekend. Anyone have the same experience?

When I get this response, I shift gears and ask, "Do you want to be with them?

Then what do you say, when they say "Yes" and you are all full?

I'd spilt them up, and explain to the first person in the group why.

"How many in your party?"

"2"

"Row 1. How many in your party"

"We're with them" -points to group in row 1-

"Then how many all together?!"

"Oh There are 10 of us"

 Come on people 2 and 10 are nothing alike, Unless we are getting confused by binary here people. If you don't want to be with these people then why are you in line with them in the first place?

"Too bad!"

Which I then usually have to follow with, "Look, this is obviously a personal matter. If they decided to leave without you, maybe they're trying to tell you something."

The fun part is when it happens in reverse!

It seems like almost every day I host one of the fab five or the Princess, I get people who claim to be with parties that don't know them. Most of the time, people just let it go so that the family can cut the line, but the other day I had this woman turn around and go, "NO YOU'RE NOT! Wait your turn like the rest of us, buddy!"

I wanted to kiss her...
