The Port and the Cape are neighbouring but separate places. The Port is where the cruise ships come in while the Cape is the city and home of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Kennedy Space Center.

Same thing happened here years ago. The state or city put out bids for signs for the new Barraza highway. Some company in Portland (I think) got the job. All the signs came back spelled 'Tuscan'.
Ended up costing more than if they had the signs done locally.
