First, Main Street, a quartet made up of current or former Dapper Dans and/or Voices of Liberty singers (Mike McGee, Myron Whittlesey, Tony DeRosa and Roger Ross) took 5th place at the recent International quartet competition in Portland. (That such talented performers have been in 5th place two years running just shows the quality of the competition at that level!)

Second, the Ambassadors of Harmony, an amazing group from St. Charles, MO -- they're the ones who broke the Vocal Majority win streak back in 2009 in Anaheim -- took their third chorus gold medal in the Internationals, and their up-tune was "Step in Time." There's an unofficial recording of their performance on YouTube (which means it could be taken down any time), but it's well worth a few minutes to watch. I get exhausted just seeing them.

Finally, my upcoming VM show, while Texas-themed overall as my signature graphic shows, will end with a few patriotic numbers from our repertoire, and one new one as our big closer: an a capella arrangement of Epcot's Golden Dream!! I just heard the learning track for it last night, and it's going to be amazing. (Plus it lets me at least pretend I'm a Disney performer!)
