Interesting people...
I know there are some "famous" interesting people that frequent WDW - I've read stories about towel-baby lady, Linda Skywalker, etc.
We were at WDW recently and we met one very interesting fellow I've never read about online but I'm sure somebody on here will know about. Sorry, I do not know his name, but he is kind of like a monorail groupie. He is in a motorized wheelchair and has a binder all about the Disney monorails... We were in a monorail car with him on July 3 on the Epcot line (Tron monorail to be specific) and although I'm sure he is a nice guy, we were very hot and very tired and did not feel like reading random facts about the monorail... He was talking to each monorail CM and showing off his binder! He said he was waiting all day to specifically ride the Tron monorail and that on his last birthday he spent the day riding all the monorails...
Anyone know him? Seen him? Thoughts??

I think we are stuck with the Tron monrail for a least a little while longer. I think it looks cool but I still prefer the look of the classic monrail. I just read in the paper that they are going to be selling the tron monorail in toy form this christmas.ktulu wrote:Wait...wait just a second. They are still running the Tron monorail?
I have actually had guest ask me how to specifically ride the tron monorail like riding it is any different then the normal monorails. I guess you just feel cooler when your riding inside a lightcycle.
Re: Interesting people...
Yeah, we road the Tronorail a few times when we were there in May. I thought it was kind of weird, since the movie has been out of theaters and on DVD for a while now...I didn't really get why it was still being hyped up.ktulu wrote:Wait...wait just a second. This person with the binder I never met in almost two years of working in the department. That said, he doesn't surprise me. Lots of people love the Monorails. Myself included.
My mind is drawing a blank this second, besides the wand on SSE, but I know there are several, SEVERAL things that have been put up temporarily that either took years to take down, or they never did.ktulu wrote:Wait...wait just a second. They are still running the Tron monorail?
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Tron was a wrap, yes? Seems like you could easily pull it off.Big Wallaby wrote:This person with the binder I never met in almost two years of working in the department. That said, he doesn't surprise me. Lots of people love the Monorails. Myself included.

If I'm not mistaken while the main body was wrapped the cabs and a few other areas had to be painted. I also wouldn't be surprised if the wrap being on there for so long has damaged the paint job underneath which would require the entire train to be repainted, not just the cabs.ktulu wrote:Tron was a wrap, yes? Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

That is the plan. Coral gets a new paint job when Tron comes off.Shorty82 wrote:If I'm not mistaken while the main body was wrapped the cabs and a few other areas had to be painted. Towel Baby Lady goes around carrying a towel and pretending it's a baby. But if you call it a baby, she rudely informs you it's a towel. Try the search feature on here.
