Please read the giant letters on the paper!
Had a Guest come up the other day and try to present a DLR Disney's eTicket for admission.
Informed her that she couldn't use it at WDW, given the whole other-side-of-the-country thing.. She refused to accept this and continued to insist that the ticket was good at "Disney". This despite the giant Disneyland Resort printed in giant blue letters at the top of the paper being repeatedly pointed out to her, not to mention the various error messages the turnstile kept throwing up.
This is exactly why I get ever-so-slightly annoyed whenever I hear anyone, either Guest or Cast, refer to either DLR or WDW (though it tends to happen much more often at WDW, IMHO) generically as "Disney". It confuses people and results in mix-ups such as this.

yep, People see Disney and figure it's good at any Disney place. they are not carefull when buying etickets and blame you. I once bought a new AP online and had to read the fineprint a few times. This is NOT a ticket, This will get you into the place to get your ticket. now you just bring them to a certain ticket booth and they give you a special pass to get in to the AP offices.glendalais wrote:Had a Guest come up the other day and try to present a DLR Disney's eTicket for admission.

It's similar to the idiocy that thinks that every kids' animated movie is from Disney.
I was on the margins of a conversation a few days ago when I heard a parent saying they'd seen the new Disney movie about the rabbit. I said I was pretty sure "Hop" wasn't a Disney film.
Her response? "Okay, Pixar, whatever." Grrr.

Yep, that's pretty much the popular mind-set:drcorey wrote:yeah, scan youtube and you see most animated stuff is said to be Disney.

If it is a cartoon, then Disney created it. All the other studios are really owned by Disney. Also, anything animated is automatically kid-friendly. If it wasn't, it wouldn't be a cartoon, now, would it?

So back to the original post, did the guest get credit for the Disneyland Ticket she had purchase towards a like admission at WDW? Or was she just SOL and had to deal with Anaheim when she returned home?
Just curious as that could be a chunk of change out of someone's vacation budget.

Yes it sure could. Were I presented with this issue, *and* I had the ability to convert her DL ticket into credit toward a WDW ticket, I would do so. At Lobby Concierge, I don't have this ability. Don't know if Guest Relations does.WWWD wrote:So back to the original post, did the guest get credit for the Disneyland Ticket she had purchase towards a like admission at WDW? This is a different issue at DLR, as their tickets presently cost less than WDW tickets. I understand they will honor them (but not refund the difference).

If you go to The Hub >> Work >> Ticketing >> Processes & Business Rules the very first listing is Accepting Disneyland Tickets at Walt Disney World and it gives detailed procedures.
