E-mails from Disney...

Post by Mayonnaise » Fri Mar 25, 2011 6:29 pm

Anyone have any idea why I'm getting e-mails from Disney for people who aren't me, but were on a trip I booked?

Most specifically, I'm getting e-mails addressed to my boyfriend, who's name was on the itinerary as the second guest, when the trip was booked and paid for by me.

Please don't tell me Disney assumes that the MALE name on the itinerary is the booker and owner of the booking e-mail address, rather than the FIRST name and or BILLING name.

The Disney reservations system attaches the primary address to everyone attached to the reservation. As a result, I'm still getting email to my father for whom I booked a room five years ago. It's very hard to turn that off -- though I've discovered that it's not quite impossible.

I do all the Disney planning in my family. Last year I purchased 4 small Disney Vacation Club contracts. I made the phone calls, sent the emails, wrote the checks, my name is on the credit card that was used for part of the payment, yet Disney TWICE listed my husband as the primary owner with me as secondary. They have never so much as spoken to him on the phone.
Same thing happened with one of our Disney cruise reservations - my husband was listed as the primary guest after I made all the payments. His name is not even printed on my checks. So yes, that happens, and it really pisses me off.

Disney gets e-mail right for me. On the other hand, Disney can't seem to get snail-mail right. I reserved and paid for all of my trips, and I continually get postal mail to my address, but with my *guests* name on it. (I'm male, my guest is usually female.) Nothing like getting a postcard deal in someone else's name.

Better than that, I got a renewal notice from Disney/D23, and the first postcard I got was to my address, but a completely unknown person's name on it. Several days later, I was sent another renewal post card with my correct name on it. Oops. :)
