Thank You Thank You Thank You
While I have been to WDW many times I am not one who goes even once a year. I look forward to my occasional trips because it has always been an easy place to take my kids and have fun. I can leave my worries at home relax while you all cook, clean, and drive me from here to there. You also have made some memorable moments for me and my family. I could name many from each and every trip. I can honestly say I have never encountered a rude or mean CM.
This last trip started off very bad for my son and I, not because of any CM, but because my son has issues with any change in his regular routine and cam not handle being around what he calls "to many people". After being on a train for two days he was just not having any part of being reasonable, even when well rested and on his medication. After two days of being in parks and having to leave after two or three attractions I was about in tears and thinking WDW will never be the magical fun place it use to be for him or me. I was very sad and standing in Epcot thinking WDW was over for my family.
I went to Guest Services and talked to a wonderful young lady who gave me a special pass. I was able to enjoy my trip again. My son just can not get up early and be to a park early. He can not handle the crowds in lines or even walk ways for very long. With the help of this pass and a stroller I could actually stay and experience the magic with him.
To look at him you would think he was fine and could stand in a line. I never once got even a dirty look from a CM when he would hop out of the stroller and walk on to the attraction. For this I thank each and everyone of you I encountered this trip. I felt like I was being a big cheater using the pass and would have left and stayed at the hotel if I had even suspected that a CM thought this as well. Now some of you may have thought this but you never showed it and this allowed my son to have a great trip and for me to have some great memories.
Because of the pass my son was able to ride Buzz, his favorite this time, over and over. After an afternoon nap he even joined in with the dance party for a few minutes before climbing back in to the safety of his stroller. He was embarrassed to be a seven year old in a stroller but needed it and all of you made him feel comfortable.
A special thank you to the CM who helped me find him at All Star Movie. He was upset with me and when I was trying to grab drinks, out of the cooler, walked off and hid. I did not get the name of the CM because I was frazzled and just glad to find him. She was great though and very quick to respond to the front desk call of a lost child.

Very nice story, the CMs ROCK!!!!!!! :)
You all have no idea how special it is to have a place where we can enjoy watching our kids' happiness no matter what struggles they have. Makes a parent's heart swell and our eyes start to tear.

Thanks for posting this IAgreeorNot. It's always nice to see stories like this when we start to feel a little "pixie-rusted".
The official welcoming committees should be along shortly. If you have a fire-proof suit, I'd recommend putting it on, some of the welcomes can get a little ... uh ... intense.

This is not the intense welcome, but it is heartfelt.

It's because of things like that that I even keep my status as a Cast Member... the fact that I can go in once in a while and get the opportunity to brighten someone's day like that. I am glad they were able to do that for you.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I have always enjoyed reading here and just felt CMs did not get enough thanks. I wish I had wrote down some names to send to WDW in a thank you. I will still send off a letter but individuals will not get the thanks they deserve.

Re: Thank You Thank You Thank You
It seems I've become somewhat infamous, I don't welcome someone in a couple days and start getting PMs asking what's going on. :p:
Anyway...
Greetings IAgreeOrNot, I am the resident dragon and would like to offer you a very warm* welcome to that slice of the internet we call SGT. This website contains threads with quick twists and turns and I would like to advise you to not try too hard to keep up with them. Please keep your hands, arms, and legs safely inside the website at all times and enjoy your stay.
*this instance of warm is actually hot**... very hot
**this instance of hot means that you are now literally on fire, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for any inconvenience
Also, if I may, this marks my 1000th post.

Re: Thank You Thank You Thank You
We have to use a GAC to enjoy the parks as well and almost all of the CM's have been very kind and have even spared a little extra pixie dust to help us out. We have only had 1 encounter with a very rude CM. I would like to second the thank you to all the CM's that are nice and smile ( even if you don;t want to). It means a lot to some of us and it only takes one rude person to put an end to a persons good time.

Re: Thank You Thank You Thank You
I love the Disney CM....we try to go to guest services and tell what they have done for us when they go above and beyond. I fill out a form and they get an "applause."
Our oldest son is autistic and loves Disney...he is 29 now and can stand in the lines...we did not have that issue, however, just last year we had an issue at WDW with food in a table service restaurant. Our son has issues with food and textures of foods...and is VERY PICKY. We do the buffets for this reason...Hollywood and Vine, Crystal Palace....anyway we were at Garden Grill in the Land at Epcot with the characters...the CM noticed our son was not eating anything, even though he was enjoying the atmosphere, she quietly asked me if there was items on the Children's menu he would like. I said yes and she asked if it was ok to offer him a children's menu items instead of treating him as a child...she read off what was offered on that menu and asked him like an adult if he would like any of those items. There was and she saw to it he got his meal of food he would eat...She was amazing!!!
We had already decided we would go downstairs and buy him something to eat at the end of our meal...but our Table service from our DDP paid off...
We have numerous stories like this over the years....Disney has the best service of any place....we go to other places and not fair to them we compare to Disney service!!!
