Stupid Journalist Trick

Post by delsdad » Thu Mar 03, 2011 6:21 pm

So now CNN of all places is starting to sound like board x. In a recent article, they recommend off site visitors skirt paying for parking by leaving the car at Downtown Disney, A water park, or minigolf, and then taking the busses to the parks.
Another bonehead move suggests having a runner RUN to get your fastpasses at rope drop.
the article is here: http://www.cnn.com/2011/TRAVEL/03/01/bt ... tml?hpt=C2

People that do that make me irrationally angry. Thanks a ton CNN. It's for things like that that make me wish DTD had paid parking, or at least some type of hourly limit. Even worse are ppl who have figured out that they can also walk over to Saratoga and use those buses.

Just read the whole article. Even better was when he suggested people actually go over to the BWI and park in their lot. So wrong.

I was wondering if people did that. Our last few times at Disney we had a horrible time parking at DTD. Twice we just gave up and left, the one time we did find parking (by trailing someone who was leaving) the number of people there didn't match up to how crowded the parking lot was. This drives me crazy! It would be great if Disney could find some way to fix this although at this point they might not be losing enough business to make it worth while.

DTD's parking lot crowdedness doesn't really have anything to do with people abusing it for parking, it really is just that busy. It sees in an average day more guests than the magic kingdom. The parking lot is just not organized so as people leave over the day spots are impossible to find.

I've had people ask, in the morning (and obviously not having been in the Park) asking the best way to get from TL to a specific theme park. I will give them an honest answer. But I will not tell them that as soon as the park is clear the buses will stop running. So they will need a taxi to get back to TL.

easy.... cnn.com

What we really need is a way to post instructions for ADVERTISING on cnn.com. Thats where the revenue stream comes from. If advertisers could get their message up for free.....it would be like telling someone how to park for free at wdw!

I saw this article myself last week and was utterly disgusted. The first couple of times we went as a family, we rented a house. Not once did I think of not paying for parking (it's actually a line-item in my budget).

My stomach was so twisted after reading this. I wanted to type a nasty response, but for fear of being flamed, I did not. I know....I'm a coward. But being yelled at by people I don't know is not a fun state of mind to be in.
