So glad to find this!

Post by JennyM » Thu Dec 30, 2010 9:19 pm

Hi!
My daughter is a relatively new CM and has told me a bunch of stories about her encounters! I was so happy to find this...can't wait to tell her about it! I have laughed out loud at some of the things she has told me and have been kind of horrified by some. People really are amazing creatures!

One of my favorite stories is she was approached by a family of "non-English speaking" guests who begin rapid-fire Spanish at her...a language she does not speak. They became quite angry when she explained that she does not speak Spanish...they told her she "looks like she should" and stormed away.

Also, the other day a man asked her where the Matterhorn was located. She had to explain that it was located in California. She was so excited! :D:

Welcome to SGT! Glad to have you here :)

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

Yes, welcome. JennyM. The marsupials and Lasolimu, our resident dragon, should be along shortly, along with Darph offering some sort of beverage.

Oh? I've been told I look like I should speak Spanish. I just shrugged my shoulders and said "nope, sorry."

RIP Bud Hurlbut.

You will be missed.

I am so glad I got to you before Lasolimu. He'll be by with your safety scorching shortly. In the meantime, enjoy this Monorail. This one just for you! It's our plan for Monorail Coral after she gets done being the Tronorail... awesome movie, I might add.

:sgthello:

Oh, and you'll notice we get distracted easily. Kinda like I did. Hence, Laso's safety spiel.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Hello JennyM, I am the resident dragon and would like to offer you a very warm* welcome to that slice of the internet we call SGT. This website contains threads with quick twists and turns and I would like to advise you to not try to hard to keep up with them. Please keep your hands, arms, and legs safely inside the website at all times and enjoy your stay.

*this instance of warm is actually hot**... very hot

**this instance of hot means that you are now literally on fire, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for any inconvenience

The tale of a customer being told the Matterhorn is in California reminded me of a friend who did a journal of a trip to Florida, including WDW. He had pictures of each "mountain" in the Magic Kingdom, then put a blank space for where the Matterhorn would go. He captioned it "Whups, there's no Matterhorn here (maybe they accidentally mixed it with an Antimatterhorn?)"

I envy my friend's wit. :cat1:

I am a future CM and I fully expect to receive questions like this.

I have an advantage on this, I look like I shouldn't speak any Spanish at all (in fact, I've always been told that I look like I'm from Indiana), but I do (along with 4 other languages). I don't wear any of the flag pins so I just surprise people. Always fun when they try to pull the ol' "Me no peekie Englee"

Welcome to our family!

I did over hear yesterday a SG dad claiming that Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road was in Rivers of American.

That's a NO! Where do you catch the train at?
