Whoopi's comments on the view
did anyone happen to catch Whoopi Goldbergs comments on the View Monday December 13th about Disney World and the people with strollers and scooters and how rude they are?
I tried to find it on youtube but couldn't and the view website is people complaining about what she said.

Whoopi talks about the scooters and strollers at the top of the show. Man, she got it RIGHT!

It's funny, cause even yesterday there was a guest in line with a wheel chair, and she was asking me "Why couldn't I bring my scooter through the line?" and then I proceeded to tell her that it wouldn't fit. She looked at me dumbfounded like I didn't know what I was talking about. She needs to get over herself and realize that those stupid ECVs are a pain to accommodate, and we don't want you running over other people in line.
A few days before that I told a lady that she couldn't bring it in, and told what to do instead. Later on that day she snuck past the greeter in that damn thing. Should have drained her battery when she got on the ride.
Then there are the people who exceed the weight limit for ECVs, or they let their kids ride when it's only supposed to have 1 rider. Then there are the people who get cranky if they don't get their ECV within 10 seconds of them paying for it. I'm not apologizing to you!

And I'm sure she used the line, "But the other nice CM let me do it earlier." for the rest of the day when she was told no.5th Dimension wrote: Later on that day she snuck past the greeter in that damn thing.
I see both sides of the ECV thing. I have had my ankles shredded buy people trying fit though a 12 inch gap. After they maim you, they look at you like it was your fault for standing there. I did pick the front of one up and drop it off the curb after the SG rammed me 3 times trying to push her way down the sidewalk after the parade at MK. I bent down, picked up the front and moved it over about 15 inches dropping it off the edge of the sidewalk. Looked at her and said if she hit me again she was going over backwards.
ON the other side, the guy I race with shattered his knee (playing golf, not racing) about 3 weeks before we were going to WDW. Surgery didn't go well. He could walk some but not all day. He got an ECV but we never tried to stuff it into places it didn't belong and just waited out the crowds after big events. Worked out great. If a CM said no, he got up and hobbled. No problem.
Common sense without an entitlement attitude goes a long way... Oh, that's right, we're talking about SG's here.. They only have 1 of the above... And not the 1 they should.

Sometimes, you just have to love Whoopi. It's not often that you would get a celebrity talking about this stuff, and on a national show.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

If you want to use it because of an accident, I can understand.TeamUBR wrote:And I'm sure she used the line, "But the other nice CM let me do it earlier." for the rest of the day when she was told no.

But those who just don't want to walk around, you best be patient with it. The battery should "mysteriously" shut off at the end of the night where ever they are, and "mysteriously" come back on after everyone else has cleared the area. That way, they would either have to walk, wait for a replacement, or just wait for everyone to leave a little bit more peacefully.

Amen, Whoopi! She said the things I'm sure most of us would love to say but can't.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

did something happen to her duing a visit to WDW?Big Wallaby wrote:Sometimes, you just have to love Whoopi. It's not often that you would get a celebrity talking about this stuff, and on a national show.
I have to assume it did, as most people would not know about them till they have had a "eventfull" run in with one.

She was apparently nearly run over by an oncoming ECV.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:did something happen to her duing a visit to WDW?

I'm not sure what's more surprising, that she would mention it, or that TPTB would allow such a statement to be broadcast on a popular programme on a Disney-owned network (not that Disney censors ABC, but there are ways...). Nonetheless, kudos to all involved!
I recently transferred to the Main Entrance at Epcot, and I can't even tell you how many SGTs involving ECVs I've had in the short time I've been there. We even had one SG come blasting full speed through the gate towing her daughter in a resort wheelchair behind her.
She could not understand why we wouldn't allow her to pull her daughter (who was only connected by her foot being in a groove in the back of the ECV) through the park.
