Barbara Billingsley, who gained supermom status for her gentle portrayal of June Cleaver, the warm, supportive mother of a pair of precocious boys in "Leave it to Beaver," died Saturday. She was 94.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

June Cleaver, yes, but to me she'll always be the lady in the movie Airplane: "Oh, stewardess! I speak Jive." :)
RIP.

You know I saw this and looked at this later article from the Nytimeshobie16 wrote:Barbara Billingsley, who gained supermom status for her gentle portrayal of June Cleaver, the warm, supportive mother of a pair of precocious boys in "Leave it to Beaver," died Saturday. She was 94.

And what struck me is that Barbra aged one whole heck of a lot better than either Wally or the Beav. :)

I agree, that what made that scene. Mrs. Cleaver, the whitest white-woman in the world, speaking Jive.BRWombat wrote:June Cleaver, yes, but to me she'll always be the lady in the movie Airplane: "Oh, stewardess! I speak Jive." :)

Classic. I honestly don't think it would have been near as funny if they had used someone else.

I agree with all of the above. Barbara Billingsley was the ultimate TV mom, and was great parodying herself speaking Jive in Airplane!
