Man falls over rail at Calif. Adventure ride

"A 19-year-old man was injured after falling over a rail at a ride in Disney's California Adventure Park in Anaheim Wednesday night.

Police said the man was waiting in line to get on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride when he climbed over a railing and told his friends, "wouldn't it be funny if I fell." The man plunged about 20 to 25 feet. Officials said the man had been drinking alcohol before he fell."

I have to note, as I'm sure others will, that this article got the info wrong on the ride. DCA's Tower of Terror does not have the random drops.

From the LA Times:

The 20-year-old was waiting in line with a group of friends on the second level of the line at about 10:30 p.m., when he put his leg over the railing and joked about the "possibility of someone falling over," said Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez.

The man lost his balance and fell, Martinez said. He was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, Martinez said.

"There was some indication that he may have been drinking previously," Martinez said.

Years? My guess is days. Once something like this hits the papers he'll be deluged with contacts from ambulance-chasers.

No, it will take years. Isn't that the way a lot of the law suits against Disney are? Someone has something happen in the parks, they go home because they don't need money right then (if they did what were they doing at the park to begin with?), than when they are in some financial trouble and people have forgotten it was their own fault and they have a chance to win, they sue.

Oh? He told them he was just trying to put his leg over the rail? Not trying to do a backflip while in line?

Yeah. A backflip. I seriously doubt putting one's leg over the rail will instantly make you fall over. Meanwhile, doing a drunken backflip? Yeah....

What a moron.

RIP Bud Hurlbut.

You will be missed.
