This past weekend, Walt Disney World's Encore! Cast Choir and Orchestra presented an awesome, epic concert to benefit the Make a Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida. Being entitled "Dream Our Dreams: A Musical Tribute to the Legacy of Disney" a variety of musical and dance numbers were presented, featuring songs that we have all come to love and some that sit back in our memories until they been pulled out again. Everything from theme park anthems (namely the Epcot Medley featuring the songs 'One Little Spark', 'Universe of Energy', 'Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit' and others) to even the recent Disney Classics ('Dig a Little Deeper' and 'Down in New Orleans' from The Princess and the Frog) had all found their way into this show.
Here are a few videos from that concert weekend!

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

I went to 3 of the 4 shows (all but the daytime show on Sunday). It was AMAZING!! Great job to everyone. I taped the entire show, and probably will try to start uploading videos to Youtube soon.

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

Thanks so much for coming and and being there for so many shows! It was my first time performing with them and I had an amazing time. Many people said that it was the best show they have done so far.joanna71985 wrote:I went to 3 of the 4 shows (all but the daytime show on Sunday). It was AMAZING!! Great job to everyone. You were in it? That's awsome! Everyone did a great job.Sarah Magdalene wrote:Thanks so much for coming and and being there for so many shows! It was my first time performing with them and I had an amazing time. Many people said that it was the best show they have done so far.
I have to say, this was my third year seeing Encore (I also went in 2007 and 2008), and this was definitely my favorite show. I knew most of the songs, and the ones I didn't I fell in love with (especially Esmeralda). I'm glad I was able to go to the 3 evening shows (I only wish I could have gone to all of the shows).
