You beat me to it!!! Donny and I are in mourning. Yes - we are Yankee fans (he's born & raised, I married into it; and I do root for the Phillies - we had a house divided last fall).

Although George was tempermental, you can't knock the fact he knew how to put together a winning team. RIP

What!? He didn't...wow. That's a bummer.

I didn't know he was 80, but still. Damn.

RIP Bud Hurlbut.

You will be missed.

RIP, George. :(

Here's the video from 2008 when the New York Yankees officially renamed their spring training stadium in Tampa, Fla., Steinbrenner Field (formerly Legends Field) after George.

The Smoking Gun web site had some interesting thoughts about George.

Also check out a book called Free Lunch by David Cay Johnston.

An interesting read.

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

OLD??? Good god he was only 18 years older than I am. That's mighty young in my book.
