Housing near WDW

Post by kurtisnelson » Thu Apr 29, 2010 4:27 pm

I have found out there are 16 of us at WDI in the fall. Disney offers us housing for $125 a week w/ a roommate. I have heard from Monorail_Red that the housing isn't even necesarily close. A group of 6 already has reserved a vacation house for the whole fall, coming out to $425 a month per person, absolutely everything included. I queried and there are roughly 6 of us who are open to an alternative to the Disney housing. So, any ideas on where we could find something?

ALL STAR Vacation Homes comes recommended by friends who use them for their frequent visits. Most are in Kissimmee, or at least on the south side of WDW, but you can ask them about other locations.

Homes come furnished, most with game rooms or home theaters, all with pools. Decent folks to deal with. I have no clue about pricing or their willingness to rent long-term to interns.

Know that any lease of less than 6 months is subject to the tourism tax in Florida, so look at booking for half a year even if you won't be staying that long, it may be an advantage.

Failing that, there are a number of vacant houses in my neighborhood I could help you break into....

Zazu can be the middleman in a barter deal; copper for food. :D:

We give food to Copper, then we get copper for food. If the police find out about our operation, do we have to feed the coppers? :p:

The mark of a true friend!

Side note, what are these houses going for?

Too much, obviously. Some that have been on the market for over six months range from $160k to $260k for 2 to 4-br.

$260k for a 4-br? What kind of sq footage on that? Lot sizes? HOA?

Not that I'm thinking of moving there or anything...
