Disney goes to trial over safety of Tower of Terror

In a rare thrill-ride personal injury lawsuit that has made it to trial, Walt Disney World is in court this week defending the safety record of one of its most popular attractions... A patron is claiming a stroke 23 days after riding the Tower of Terror.

Parties of 33 should consider dividing their parties into two groups of 16 and a half each.

Hmmmmm, I worked with a MD who had a patient with a similar issue. I asked if the Roller Coaster caused the patient's Cerebral Hemorrhage (occured ON the Coaster) and MD said it would have occured anyway, just happened to occur then. 23 days later seems to be waaaaaay too late to associate ToT with cerebral artery laceration-did he have severe headaches from approximately the time he rode until 23 days later?-that would indicate he had an injury. He would have to have that documented by a medical doctor, and then,of course, he would be suing the Doctor for failure to diagnose same, resulting in a stroke.

Sure wish I was on the jury 'cause I'd be voting for Disney for sure.
Or maybe I've got it backwards. Too bad my brother wasn't visiting me when he had his stroke last year. I could have rushed him over to WDW and got him a big payday by blaming them...had to be their fault if it happened on one of their rides, right? Surely it wouldn't have happened otherwise...surely surely.
Will people ever accept that bad shit happens and it's not always someone's fault? (Probably not, when that "someone" has deep pockets.)

I got a hang nail today after riding the tea cups ride at Disney in Dec 2008. I am going to sue Disney.

I have chronic sinusitis from when I worked at Knott's and a kid sneezed in my face. Or maybe it was from when we were forced to stand outside in a downpour because Knott's was too stupid to close the park and let us go home--there were fewer than 1,000 guests, and usually when there's that few people, they close and let us go home. Oh, and they wouldn't give us any raingear, either. Maybe I'll sue them, as well as for the stress I got working for them, which was accompanied by chronic diarrhea whenever the weather changes. Heck, if you work at Knott's, everything gives you the runs. I nearly lost my sanity and my health working for that dump.

Why is this even going to court? 3wks after he was on the ride,12yrs later? This is too unreal.

My thought exactly darph! & I don't ever agree with you. ;) Am sure Wombat can educate us. Really is an injustice & waste of court time. :(darph nader wrote:Why is this even going to court? 3wks after he was on the ride,12yrs later? This is too unreal.![]()
