Victoria & Alberts-style restaurant on DCL Cruise Ship

Post by Syndrome » Thu Apr 08, 2010 1:42 pm

The Disney Dream will feature Remy, a restaurant with a menu co-created by the V & A chef:

Doesn't that food look DELICIOUS?!

More like ridiculous. Sorry,,,,I don't want my food to look like a work of art. I'm sure this guy worked hard to learn his trade,,,,,,,,but some how.
Now if you want a meal, come to the Old Pueblo and I'll take you to Micha's. :) :)

I swing both ways as far as food is concerned. Love the froo froo stuff, but give me a beer and burger at B.J.'s Brewhouse and I'm plenty content too. I suspect the meat and potatoes crowd in general isn't going to embrace Remy tho'. Enough of them complain about Palo already (not sure why...they have an excellent steak).

Like the old joke, "Do you know what French Nouveau means.... I just spent $98.00 on dinner and I'm still hungry."

I view the Nouveau cuisine this way: All style, little substance. I can understand the ideas behind it, and it may taste great, but I find it hard to believe all but the lightest of eaters would find such dishes as being filling. So, artistic though it may be, and a little slice of heaven to taste, it would fail to do the main task of what a meal is suppose to do: satisfy one's hunger.

Nouveau cuisine is good for two things; reducing your waistline and lightening your wallet.

Generally, given the choice, I'll take a generous portion over a plate with only a few bites on it, no matter how fancy.... but here's the deal with this place -- you're on a cruise ship! Food is everywhere, so you're not going to go hungry... Seems like this is perfect place to try the "froo froo stuff." If you're still not satisfied after eating here, the buffet is likely still open. It's the best of both worlds. :D:

Don't worry, it's a full nine course meal. And if that isn't enough, I plan to raid the cheese cart.

I find it ironic that only Disney could get away with naming a gourmet restaurant after a sewer rat.

Why? Chuckie Cheese had a giant rat in every store. :D:
