A News Request
My mom called about an article she saw the other day, and now can't find. I was hoping someone here can help me out. Here is what little I know about it, assuming it exists. I am also giving this its own thread because of the intentions I have with whatever y'all can help me find.
This article, most likely an op-ed, is the reaction of a reader to the coverage that WESH 2 News gives Disney any time there is any sort of news event that we've discussed here. This article specifically targets WESH for the way that WESH goes out of their way to make Disney look bad any time they can. If anyone has seen this article or knows where to find it, I would like to see it.
While the other news stations do report on the things that go on, you can almost see the glee on the reporters' faces at WESH when they report something negative about Disney. It is my opinion that if Disney was to give $10 million to Give Kids The World and Make a Wish, WESH would either
A) not report it,
B) ask the parents of the MaW kids if they were concerned for their kids' safety while at Disney World  :(
C) report one line about the event that the article is about, and then get back to their favorite subjects, or
D) create a bad news event on property to report on to balance the good deed.
I am not above bribery for this article. I will be happy to reward the first person to post with a Dole Whip in Adventureland or at the Polynesian, or another treat of equal or similar value the next time they come visit (or if that is a Cast Member, the next time I can meet up with you).

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

This is a Letter to the Editor of Orlando Sentinel dated 4/3/10
MAPO
Maybe this is what Mom meant?I consider the Sentinel's front-page article Friday regarding accidents at Walt Disney World to be a typical example of irresponsible journalism.
The accident was unrelated to the other six incidents cited. Is the Sentinel suggesting that there is a systemic safety problem at Disney? Also, the article states that the bus struck the boy, when the opposite is true.
Our hearts ache for the family and friends of the boy, and for the bus driver. The Sentinel is not alone in the sensationalism of this tragic incident. WESH-Channel 2 checked the driver's traffic and criminal records, and found only one minor traffic infraction. How many of us have such a clean record?
How would the Sentinel report a similar incident if it occurred on a city street in Orlando?

Re: A News Request
From the "Ktulu Journal of News and other things he considers super cool, or sometimes just mildly interesting":
Let me know when I can collect my prize ;)WESH sucks! Those so-called "journalists" over there could not say a positive thing about Disney, even if bribed! They are just huge fans of Charles Mintz! They like to bring up old news that is completely irrelevant to the current story. In this guys opinion, they are not worthy of reporting WANT ADS, let alone any sort of news. Then again, we all know what WESH stands for: We Expound Shoddy Headlines.

Hmm... I will have to find out. ktulu, as far as accuracy and my agreement, you win there... but I don't know that that is the article I was looking for. And as for collecting your prize, well, you're coming out this way soon, right? I think I owe you more than a Dole Whip.
