you don't have to be in WDW to be an SGT
you don't have to be in WDW to be an SGT
I've lurked before, but couldn't resist sharing! In our local Sunday paper this weekend, there was a write up on Orlando in the travel section. The columnist writing the article apparently stayed in one of the DTD hotels and used personal transportation. He stated how expensive parking was, especially since he had to pay for parking at both EPCOT and the MK in the same day! Don't most people (especially professionals!) do a little research before they visit the Mouse?

What is this research you speak of? Anyway, as many of us have found, there are SGs everywhere, many of them check their brains at their front door instead of waiting to get to the gates.figgeek wrote:I've lurked before, but couldn't resist sharing! anyway, please allow me to offer you a very warm* welcome to the slice of the internet we like to call SGT. This website contains threads with quick twists and turns and we would like to advise you to not try hard to keep up with them. Please keep your hands, arms, and legs safely inside the website at all times and enjoy your stay.

I actually question whether some "professionals" actually visited Disney World after reading their reviews. I swear some of them just regurgitate the guidebooks, no matter how incorrect and out of date.

Most "journalists" are not as interested in the facts, nor as ethical, as our own Syndrome!Syndrome wrote:I actually question whether some "professionals" actually visited Disney World after reading their reviews. I've heard this "check their brains" theory before. I still say it's a stretch to assume that they have brains.Lasolimu wrote:What is this research you speak of? Yesterday while waiting to return to the break room, the train at New Orleans station had just started to leave when the train conductor haulted the train to a stop. A bunch of stupid cheer leaders decided to climb over their seats and regroup them selves. The conductors told them to remain seated and don't move an inch.

Usually those columns are written by a national travel writer, not by a local (of your newspaper), and they usually publish their email address at the end of the article. I would write him and correct him on that, plus any other errors he has made (seriously!). Then again, let him keep making those errors about WDW/DL, etc. That way, people who read his article would think the same idea (Disney is SO expensive! I'm not going there!), and there'll be less SG's in the parks. :)
